2 SEARCH Use the Search tab if you want to explore our collection or if you are not confortable with the catalogue. Enter a keyword for what you are looking for. For example, if you want books about Helen Keller, write " Helen Keller ". Click on "Search" or tap the Enter key. Keywords: Searches in every field. The simplest search; it returns a lot of results. Author: Searches in the principal authors as well as secondary authors. Title: Searches in the title and contents notes of documents. Subject: Searches in the subjects we assigned to the documents. Series Title: Searches in the series titles of documents. 1

3 ADVANCED SEARCH ON-LINE CATALOGUE Use the Advanced Search tab if you know exactly what you are looking for and you are comfortable with the catalogue. Enter a keyword for what you are looking for. You can specify the language of the document. If you want a recent document, specify it here. Or, you can enter a range of dates of publication. For example, if you want books about Helen Keller, write " Helen Keller ". You may combine search terms. For example, if you are looking for the book Private games by James Patterson, type in " Private Games " in Title and " James Patterson " in Author. Choose a collection. For example, if you are looking for a children s book, specify it here. 2

4 RESULT LIST Sort your result list by title, author or year of publication by clicking on the links at the top of the list. The green checkmark means the document is available; the red cross means the document is not available. Refine your search by clicking on the different facets. The pictures indicate the material type. To see the bibliographic information and the call number, click on the title. 3

5 FULL DESCRIPTION In this section, you will find information about the document, such as the title, the author, the publisher, the number of pages and the subjects. In this section, you will find information about the copies, such as the call number, the location and the availability. The location, in which section of the library you will find the document. The call number The availability. A "-" means the document is available. The number of reservations on the document. 4

7 eresources Use the eresources tab to access our ebooks and online databases. The TumbleBooks collection is made of online children s books that are read out loud and animated. These are ideal for new readers and will draw even the most reluctant ones. Games and puzzles are also available. The AudioBookCloud is an online collection of talking books for adults. 8 ONLINE SERVICES YOUR CLIENT FILE In order to view you account, renew or reserve documents you must log into your account. To log in, type your 14-digit membership number and your PIN. If you need help, click on the button. Click on RESERVE A DOCUMENT When you have found the desired document, click on at the bottom left. We will contact you when the document is ready for you. Please note that if your membership is expired or if you have fines or a late document, you will not be able to reserve documents online. Also, certain materials may not be reservable, such as DVDs. RENEW A LOAN You can renew your each loan once online. To renew, go to and log in. Click on Check the document(s) you want to renew and click on Please note that if your membership is expired, if you have fines or late documents, or if the document is reserved for another borrower, you will not be able to renew your documents online. 7

9 TROUBLESHOOTING ON-LINE CATALOGUE IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO CONNECT TO YOUR ONLINE ACCOUNT 1) Make sure your membership number has 14 digits. You can check you membership number on your member card. It should begin with « ». 2) Make sure you have the right PIN. Your first PIN will be the first three letters of your family name, with the first letter in capitals, followed by the last fours digits of your phone number. You can ask for your PIN at the library s circulation desk, or, if you have given us your address, you can click on to have your PIN ed 3) Make sure you click on the button or hit the Enter key to log in. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO RENEW OR RESERVE A DOCUMENT 1) Make sure your membership is not expired. If your membership is expired, you won t be able to renew or reserve documents online. You must come to the library with a piece of ID and a recent proof of address to renew your membership before renewing or reserving your documents. 2) Make sure you don t have any late documents. As soon as one document is late, you won t be able to renew or reserve documents online. You must come to the library to return your late documents and pay your late fee before renewing or reserving your documents. 3) Make sure you don t have any outstanding fees. As soon as you have a fee to pay, you won t be able to renew or reserve your documents online. You must come to the library and pay your outstanding fee before renewing or reserving your documents.
