Externships -- professors returning to work in "the real world" -- are becoming more common. Ideally, the workplace gains something from the professor, and the professor gains something from the workplace. 9 September, 4 Media Panel *Japanese exchange students on 9/9/4 *DECCA group on /6/4 Mass communications professor from MSUM, began an 'externship' at Prairie Public Broadcasting. The externship is similar to a university sabbatical with the purpose of Gilmour learning about new media practices to improve and update her classroom curriculum.
