2 Birmingham BMX Club Presents 2013 British BMX Championships August 2013 Welcome On arrival, you will be directed to the BMX car parking area or the On Site Camping entrance, depending on your arrangements for the weekend. You will be given a welcome pack including wristbands which must be worn for the duration of the event please. Registration Times Registration for this event is either via British Cycling s online registration system or direct with your region. East Anglia, North and Scotland will register online (region s choice) Online entry opens on the 1st of August and closes at 11pm on the 13 th of August. Only riders that have qualified should register. Go to the calendar section via and choose British BMX Championships followed by the region you have qualified through. If you haven t qualified and require dispensation, please read the published information against your online event. Dispensation regulations can be found in Appendix 3 of the BMX regulations. Midlands, South and South West will register direct with your region (region s choice) The regions will publish information on how to register for this event and how and when to apply for dispensation by. Rider Check in Saturday 24 th of August All riders will check in with your own region at the track between the hours of 10am and 1pm on Saturday the 24 th of August. Entry Fees Registration Costs: Link to Pre Entry Male and Female (20 & 24 ) Championship Men/Women Elite Men Rules - British BMX Championships 1 General Information 1.1 BC BMX National Series Racing Regulations apply to this event except where indicated below. 1.2 The Race Format will be as per National Series Regulations with the exception There are no B Finals 1.3 Each Region s top 20 results count towards the Regions score. 1.4 Each Club s top 6 results count towards the Clubs score.

3 1.5 Each Team s top 4 results count towards the Team s score. 1.6 Points are awarded according to the National Series system except positions 5-8 semi finalists, who will also receive points. 1.7 Combined classes will be split out before points and trophies are awarded. 3. General Registration Information 3.1 Age categories for the event are published below. 3.2 Riders who have ridden up in age classes at a Regional Series may ride their true age group at the Brits based on Current year minus year of birth basis. This also applies to female riders who may ride in male classes at regional level and wish to ride in a female class at the event. 3.3 Any rider that has competed in a higher age/ability category at national level in the current year must compete in that category at the British Championships. 3.4 A rider who has qualified via the Regional Series on 20 but not on Cruiser, or vice versa, is allowed to enter both classes. 3.5 Riders must compete on the correct number plate as follows Regional plate both colour and suffix. Midlands - Red plate with white numbers Suffix *1 South West - Light Green with black numbers Suffix *2 East Anglia - Yellow plate with black numbers Suffix *3 North (& IOM) - White with black numbers Suffix *4 (IOM have a single digit followed by M) South - Blue plate with white numbers Suffix *5 Scotland - Black plate with white numbers Suffix * Championship class riders will compete on their National Series plates Riders using a current World (W) or European (E) ranking plate in the class it was awarded in or its nearest equivalent Riders with a current British Championship 01 classification in that class Side plates must comply with the main regulations with ranking and regional number in one line e.g. 223 or no decimal point on side plates as there will not be room Until the Regional structure develops in the relevant areas, riders from the Isle of Man should ride with a single digit followed by M and register via the North Region. Riders living in Wales should qualify via one of the existing English Regions All riders must have valid BC Silver or Gold membership at the time of the event and should also have qualified through their relevant regional series. 5 Riders Parade 5.1 Details of the parade schedule, route and times will be published at the event. 5.2 The Riders Parade is open to all competing riders and club officials who will parade part of the track without bikes. 5.3 It is each region s responsibility to organise their clubs and ensure that all riders are ready to start the parade when requested. The order of the regions will be announced prior to the parade. 5.4 No animals will be allowed in the parade. Categories Male Female Cruiser 6 & under 6 & under 9-12, , 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, , , Master (30+) Veteran ( Championship (Junior & 17+ riders) Female Elite Championship (17+) 30+ Female Championship and Elite will run as 2 separate categories and will not be merged.

Prize Money: Due to online entry, prize money will be paid after the event by British Cycling. Place Elite Men Championship Women Championship Men 1st nd rd th th th th th Place Club Championships Awards will be presented for: 1st Award 2nd rd th th th Best Supported Region: This award will be presented to the region that gets into the spirit of the Brits. As well as achieving that coveted 01 plate, the Brits is about supporting your region. Follow your region colour scheme and make some noise for your riders. Top Points Region: When all the results are added up, this award will be presented to the region with the best points tally. Club & Team Championships: As well as showing some region solidarity, there will be awards for the best point scoring clubs and the top point scoring Challenge Team and Elite Team.

5 Schedule Friday Open Practice This session is controlled by Birmingham BMX Club and will cost all participants 3.00, to be paid in reception All participants will be given a wristband which must be worn at all times. The Series presentation will commence at 7pm. The top 8 ranked riders from the British BMX Series will be presented with a trophy on the main presentation stage. Any rider ranked 9-16 in the 12 and under 20 categories can collect their trophy during the presentation and not before. For trophy collection details, listen out for announcements on Saturday. 6 Please Note: Schedules: especially on Sunday racing will be run with minimum delay - it is the rider s responsibility to listen to commentary for the start of the next round of racing. Outside these specified practice and race times the track will be closed. Marshals and First Aid will not be available outside of these times. Riders/Parents/Team Managers take full responsibility for any incidents that may occur. There will be several food points close to the track and Catering will be open all weekend, including Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner There are lots of restaurants in the area and there is a SUBWAY next to the site. Trading All traders must book through Chris Wilkins please contact by ing birminghambmxclub@gmail.com No unauthorised trading is allowed and anyone doing so will be requested to leave the site. Team Areas Several options will be available at all events. Trackside space can be requested by Elite Teams, but based on the number of teams requesting space, trackside space cannot be guaranteed. The host club/organiser will contact all current BC registered BMX Elite Teams with options and booking times. Team Area 1 Team Area 2 Deadline for application: 100 for a 6m x 3m gazebo 50 for a 6m x 3m gazebo 17 th of July Accommodation & Camping There are many hotels in the area please use the usual search facilities to find one suitable for your needs Campsite booking deadline: 11 th of August Other Info No dogs are allowed in the track area. No smoking in the track area the designated smoking area is the main car park.
