2 Tops Internships combine study, formation and part time work in a 2 year, live in experience on a Christian campsite.

3 THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE The Tops Internship provides a unique opportunity to experience the inner workings of one of Australia's premier Christian facilities. During the 2 years, interns are exposed to many unique camping environments, ranging from week long school holiday Christian camps to mid-week school programs, through to working with at-risk children. EACH YEAR Broad exposure to the many facets of camping ministry. Complete 4 units of study towards a Diploma in Christian Studies, including theology, work placement and spiritual formation. Active participation in outdoor recreation programs with schools. Attend Fresh Hope Summer and Winter student gatherings for unique study intensives. Attend the NSW Fresh Hope conference. Involvement in school holiday ministry camping contexts with children, youth, and at-risk children. YEAR 1 Broad exposure to the many facets of camping ministry. Attend Christian Venues Association national Connect conference. * Travel Australia on an Australian Campsite trek to learn about the work of Christian Venues in Australia. * YEAR 2 Develop specialised skills in a particular area of interest in camping ministry. Contribute to venue development through special projects. Travel to the developing world to get a taste of what God is doing on the international Christian camping scene. * This is a guide, with some program content is subject to change. *

4 STUDY Over the 2 years, students will complete a Diploma of Christian Studies. All subjects are studied at Bachelor of Theology level through ACOM. YEAR 1 INTRODUCTION TO CHRISTIAN DOCTRINES Explores Christian belief, and why and how the Bible can be trusted. You will also gain the tools necessary to engage in sound and thorough theological reflection. SPIRITUAL FORMATION An intentional Character and Spiritual formation process that develops personal maturity and emotional health within individuals and helps students develop sustainable habits for long term ministry. CRITICAL THINKING & WRITING Provides structured, practical instruction in the nature and skills of critical thinking and writing in a theological context, focussed on developing the art of essay writing within a camping and conferencing context. INTRODUCTION TO DISCIPLESHIP An opportunity to look at Jesus as an example of spiritual leadership. Be encouraged and gain insight into how to be disciples of Jesus and to share your experience and knowledge with others.

5 YEAR 2 INTRODUCTION TO THE NEW TESTAMENT An introduction to the New Testament, its books, context, message and keys to interpreting the Bible in its original contexts and applying this interpretation to our contemporary world. SPIRITUAL FORMATION An intentional Character and Spiritual formation process that develops personal maturity and emotional health within individuals and helps students develop sustainable habits for long term ministry. CHRISTIAN VENUES Through investigating the development of Christian Venues, students will explore the significant value of the temporary community environment and its transformational impact on participants. PRINCIPLES OF PASTORAL LEADERSHIP Examines the nature and practice of leadership. CERTIFICATE III in OUTDOOR RECREATION Interns will also have the opportunity to complete a Certificate III in Outdoor Recreation, giving practical skills in group facilitation and guiding activities such as abseiling, navigation and climbing.

7 FAQ WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY? Tops Interns study at a Bachelor of Theology level. At a minimum, students under 21 need to have completed Year 12. Students over 21 are eligible as mature aged students. APPLY Download and submit your application form. ( We will contact you to arrange an interview. If successful, enrol in Diploma of Christian Studies and commence employment with The Tops. CAN I GET FEE-HELP? Yes, providing you are eligible. Tops Internship subjects are accredited through ACOM and are therefore eligible for feehelp. WILL I LIVE ON-SITE? Comfortable single or shared accommodation will be available for each intern at a low weekly rental cost including provision for meals. DO I RECEIVE AN INCOME? The Internship consists of part time work and part time study. Interns are paid as part time employees of The Tops Conference Centre. WHERE IS IT LOCATED? The Internship commences at The Tops Conference Centre, Stanwell Tops, about one hours drive south of Sydney. Throughout the internship, opportunities to work in other campsite contexts may arise.
