One of the eight defining values of Newlife Uniting is Empowering Leadership, where we will make raising, training and equipping leaders a priority not just for our sake, but for the kingdom. At Newlife College we believe a mission focused education is critical in taking such steps. Newlife College has been formed through a partnership with the Adelaide College of Divinity and Uniting College of Leadership and Theology, both recognised as world class learning communities in equipping biblically astute, theologically informed and possibilities orientated leaders. You will learn from and with a teaching faculty who are also practitioners. You will learn in the context of a healthy, vibrant, growing local church community with mission extending from the city of the Gold Coast to the nations of the world. You can choose from a wide variety of subjects and learning formats, and can study at diploma, degree or post-graduate levels. The possibilities are almost endless! 3 WELCOME TO THE DIPLOMA OF MINISTRY The Adelaide College of Divinity (ACD) Diploma of Ministry delivers contemporary Christian education combining theological study with pastoral placement, to give you a deeper understanding of the Bible while developing practical pastoral skills. Part of your studies can be undertaken in a community setting, under the supervision of an accredited ministry practitioner. This experience will enable you to apply your knowledge and gain practical skills in an area of interest. The Diploma of Ministry offers seven pathways: Aged Care Chaplaincy, Children, Youth and Family Ministry, Discipling Adults, Hospital Chaplaincy, Leadership, School Chaplaincy and Innovation and Pioneering. A Chaplaincy Coordinator will support you as you explore your call and choose your pathway. The Diploma of Ministry is made up of eight units and requires one year of full-time study or the equivalent study part-time. Students who complete the Diploma of Ministry will gain one year of credit towards a Bachelor of Ministry. UPPER LEVEL You must study two of the following: Introduction to Christian Thought Spirituality for 21st Century Disciples Supervised Field Education 1 Guided study in Christian Education and Discipleship A Creative Arts in Worship, Learning and Mission Beyond Sunday Introduction to Life, Faith and Work.

You must study one of the following: Mission Then, Mission Now The Theology of Jesus Christ, Word and Saviour Missional Church Leadership Theology and Practice of Chaplaincy Guided study in Innovation A. This course is ideal for those preparing for the Bachelor of Ministry (Practice Stream).
