2 INTRODUCTION Thank you for your interest in the Ministry Training College. The Ministry Training College at C3 Church provides study classes to support students enrolled in the Certificate IV in Christian Ministry and Theology offered by C3 College Online (C3 Church Oxford Falls). Classes commence in the week of 23 rd February We will offer both part-time and full-time versions, with the main teaching times on Monday night 7:30 9:00 pm and Thursday night, 6:30 to 9:30 pm. Please refer to the subject schedule below for proposed times. The Certificate IV in Christian Ministry and Theology is a nationally recognised qualification. You will find the subjects that you study lead you into more fruitful ministry in your church, whether you are or plan to be a pastor, a Connect Group leader, or do religious education work in church and/or schools. There are thirteen subjects in the Certificate IV, twelve of them in core areas touching on theology and doctrine, leadership, the Bible, and practical Christian living. The other Subject is a practicum based on serving in your local church. If you choose to enrol in the Certificate IV, you will find that you will grow in faith and spiritual maturity as you enlarge your understanding and have your faith challenged and developed. The course will provide you with the core Biblical foundations and key subjects for training and equipping the 21 st century believer. Pastors John and Danielle Pearce encourage all who desire to minister in our church and have completed the Pathways Levels 1 to 4 to consider enrolling in this exciting program. You also have the option of enrolling in single one-off subjects that interest you. This prospectus and Application Forms are designed to give you the essential information you will need should you wish to enrol. If you have any other queries, please feel free to ask me. The online delivery and support are provided directly by C3 College Online. A computer with online access is essential to undertake this study program. The Ministry Training College is located in the church building at 3 Premier Circuit, Warana, QLD, 4575, where all study classes are held. C3 Church at Kawana Waters and Coolum also offers an internship program for eligible participants, which includes a requirement for previous or current Ministry Training College study. A component of the Certificate IV can be linked to aspects of the Internship. If you are interested, please discuss this with a Pastor, or refer to the Internship Prospectus for further information. This is a College subject and different from the Internship Program at C3 Kawana Waters and Coolum, though participation in the Internship Program can be used to meet the subject requirements. Delivery C3 College Online provides weekly online video instruction, a student manual, and supplementary online support. You must have a computer and ADSL/Cable/WiFi Internet access (dial-up would not perform adequately). C3 Church Ministry Training College provides enhanced delivery by supplementing the above with 90-minute weekly study classes, where issues arising from the videos and student manual exercises are discussed. If you prefer, you can enrol directly with C3 College Online without the MTC Enhanced Delivery study classes. In this case do not complete the MTC Enhanced Delivery Application Form.

5 C3 COLLEGE ONLINE and MINISTRY TRAINING COLLEGE FEES You must enrol with and pay the C3 College Online fees directly to them, and the enhanced delivery study class fee to C3 Church Ministry Training College. The following fees apply: C3 College Online fees (refer to the C3 College Online website Non-refundable application fee: $ Fee per subject: $ C3 Church Ministry Training College Fees (see attached MTC Application Form): Enhanced study class fee per subject: $ Fees must always be paid one term in advance, a week prior to the commencement of classes. Pay C3 College Online fees as indicated by them, and C3 Church Ministry Training College fees at the Service Desk on Sundays, or at the Church Office during the week. When you pay C3 MTC fees please ensure you have a completed payment form (attached) so we can ensure your payment is processed correctly. We accept cash, cheques, credit cards or money orders. C3 College Online accepts credit cards or money orders only. Fees for the whole Online program paid in advance to C3 College Online attract a discount (see the online information above). One-off Subjects It is possible to enrol through C3 Church Ministry Training College for a one-off subject without assessment, rather than enrolling in the whole program. Non-assessed participants receive a Statement of Attendance but cannot use their study for credit toward the Certificate IV. MTC handles all enrolment procedures with C3 College Online on your behalf, and provides you with your online access. Please complete the one-off enrolment application available from the Service Desk on Sundays or the Church Office during the week. One-off non-assessed fee: $95 The fee must be paid at least a week prior to commencement of the course. If you wish, you can enrol directly with C3 College Online, without attending the MTC study classes. Go to and follow the links. COMPETENCY BASED TRAINING This program delivered by the C3 College Online and supported by Ministry Training College is assessed under the Vocational and Educational Training (VET) Principles of Competency Based Training. This means that all courses are built from Units of Competency. The aim of Competency Based Training is to assess the trainee s ability to do the activities in each unit instead of sitting an examination that has a specific pass mark. Your Assessor will assess your (ability) competency in each unit. You will receive an assessment of competent

6 or not yet competent. Competencies include the skills and tasks that are required in a Church environment. When you are being assessed on these activities you will be required to perform them to the level required in the appropriate environment. All assessment results are recorded. Trainees will be notified of results in each assessment and have access to their assessment records through C3 College Online. Qualifications are issued from results. The qualification is awarded by the Registered Training Organisation, C3 College Online, C3 Church Oxford Falls. Recognition of Prior Learning and credit transfer from completed Certificate IV work are possible through C3 College Online. Make enquiries directly to C3 College Online. C3 Church Ministry Training College students who have successfully completed Certificate IV subjects prior to 2014 have had this process expedited, so that credit against C3 College Online subjects are identified, and what needs to be completed is clear. Please ensure that a certified copy of each Statement of Attainment for completed subjects is provided and sent to C3College Online. Clearly indicate that you completed the subjects at Ministry Training College, C3 Kawana Waters. It is wise to always keep a copy of any documentation forwarded via mail. VOCATIONAL OUTCOMES On completion of this course you will be able to pursue, but are not limited to, the following vocational outcomes: a ministry worker in a local church or in a mission context, Connect group leadership in a church, or a religious instructor. Some of the course will articulate into further study areas at other training organisations. ENROLMENT If you wish to enrol in this program, we would be delighted to discuss this with you. Please follow the process outlined, ensuring you complete the attached application form and submit it to the Service Desk on Sundays or the Church Office during the week. APPLICATION PROCESS: 1. On your computer, use your browser to navigate to and follow the links to enrol in the next online enrolment intake. Complete the C3 College Online Application Form this link takes you to, and include the application fee payment details. Applications close shortly before the start of term on 23 February.

7 3. During the application process you will be asked to select which Lines (or strands of subjects - see the above list) you wish to enrol in. For full time, select all three Lines plus the practical ministry subject. For part time, select either one or two Lines. Only select the practical ministry subject if you perform voluntary work of some sort at church, but note that you will need to complete this at some stage during your study program. Make a personal note of which Lines you have enrolled in. 4. For C3 College Online, you will also need to organise a Pastoral Reference, which the Pastor will need to complete online. You will be given this information as you complete the online form. 5. C3 College Online will advise all applicants whether their enrolment has been accepted/not accepted. 6. C3 College Online will also provide accepted applicants with information about the course and online delivery. 7. Application for the MTC Enhanced Study Classes is a separate process. Complete the attached Application Form, and submit, with payment for classes to be attended, at the Service Desk on Sunday or the Church Office during the week. Enrolments close 15 th February When applying for MTC classes, you will need to indicate which Lines (and subject/s) you selected in your C3 Online application. 9. You must pay the prescribed C3 College Online fees and the MTC Enhanced Study Class fee prior to the commencement of classes on 23 rd February YOUTH ALLOWANCE/AUSTUDY Commonwealth Government financial support through Youth Allowance or AUSTUDY may be available to full-time students, subject to Government regulations. If you require any information regarding applying for Youth Allowance or AUSTUDY, contact your local CentreLink office. There are eligibility conditions, so you should make enquiries with CentreLink or check requirements online to establish whether you qualify for one of these allowances. Also allow at least 3-4 weeks for processing of forms, and be aware that payment may take considerably longer.
