3 CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION AND INTERPRETATION 1.1 Introduction These Master of Campus Ministry Course Regulations apply to all students enrolled in the Master of Campus Ministry Degree at the University of Notre Dame Australia. These Regulations should be read in conjunction with the General University Regulations and the School of Education Regulations. 1.2 Interpretation The terms included in these Regulations have the meanings as defined in the University s General Regulations and the School of Education Regulations. 1.3 Alterations made to Course Regulations Unless otherwise specified, when amendments are made to the structure, content or academic requirements of the Master of Campus Ministry degree, the amendments will automatically apply to all students enrolling for the first time in the degree in the year immediately following the adoption of the amendments. 1.4 Applicability to Campuses of the University The Master of Campus Ministry degree is available on the Fremantle Campus only. 3

4 CHAPTER 2: ENTRY CRITERIA 2.1 A student applying for the Master of Campus Ministry must: (a) hold the equivalent of a four year teaching qualification; and (b) normally have a GPA of at least 2.5 or higher; and (c) normally have at least three years of professional experience 2.2 The standard entry criteria as detailed in the General Regulations apply. 4

5 CHAPTER 3: DEGREE REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Structure (Appendix A) Compulsory units The following units are compulsory units within the Master of Campus Ministry: ED5191 JS506 TH580 ED5260 ED5160 TH568 CN599 CN500 CN501 Campus Ministry in Context Ethical Leadership Principles and Practices of Pastoral Theology Pastoral Care and the School Christian Formation in Education Personal Growth and Integration: Spiritual Psychological and Moral Perspectives Theories and Approaches to Counselling Counselling Skills Revision Experimental Group / facilitation Skills Elective units There is one 500-level elective unit within the Master of Campus Ministry. A student must choose one 500-level elective unit from the disciplines of Theology, Social Justice, Ethics or Counselling as approved by the Course Coordinator from the list of unit offerings published on an annual basis. 3.2 Practicum or Internship requirements A student must complete the following unit as part of the Master of Campus Ministry degree: ED5230 Professional Internship 3.3 Approved unit substitutions There are no approved unit substitutes within the Master of Campus Ministry degree. 3.4 Course duration Standard Duration (i) The standard duration of the Master of Campus Ministry degree is 1.5 years of full time study. (ii) Students are able to enrol in the degree on a part-time basis. (iii) The maximum period of time within which a student is permitted to complete the Master of Campus Ministry degree is five years from the date on which they were first accepted into the course by the University Accelerated Duration An accelerated mode is not available for the Master of Campus Ministry degree. 3.5 Graduation A minimum of 300 credit points drawn from the approved course structure is required in order for a student to graduate with the degree Master of Campus Ministry.
