10 BREC: P3792 (Out-of-Cycle) Wilson-Matanzas 161 kv Interconnection with LG&E and KU Create a new 161 kv BREC-LG&E/KU interconnection by looping the Wilson- Paradise portion of the three terminal interconnection through a new Matanzas substation (LG&E\KU) The loop will require 600 feet of new 954 MCM ACSS construction and will be located 10.5 miles from Wilson. The new LG&E\KU Matanzas station will include 2 161/138 kv transformers, (2) 161 kv line terminals, (2) 138 kv line terminals, (6) 138 kv breakers, and (6) 161 kv breakers. Expected ISD: 12/1/2012 Estimated Cost: $0 (All cost paid for by LG&E and KU TO System Need: The new interconnection and substation are reliability based projects required by LG&E\KU to provide voltage support in the Green River area. Alternative: Alternatives considered by LG&E\KU include a 161 Green River to Paradise interconnection; a second Green River to Wilson 161 kv interconnection; and a Green River to Wilson 345 kv interconnection. Target Appendix: A in MTEP12 Preliminary Project Type: Other (Reliability) (Not Cost Shared) 10
