2 2 INVITATION Dear Colleagues, The Hellenic Society of Gastrointestinal Oncology (HSGO), the Endoscopy Section of the Hellenic Society of Gastroenterology (ES-HSG) and the Experimental-Research Center ELPEN, Athens, as part of their educational activities are organizing an annual endoscopy training of two days duration for two groups of participants, with practical implementation in experimental animals (pigs). This educational activity follows the 1 st Teaching Course on GI Endoscopy, organized by the HSGO on 2009, which took place in the Experimental-Research Center ELPEN, Athens. The present course is launched under the auspices of the European Society of Digestive Oncology (ESDO), and the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE), and is granted with CME points. During the course, participants will have the opportunity to be trained in a number of current endoscopic techniques. All endoscopic techniques will be performed under the direct supervision of well-known trainers from Greece and abroad. The theoretical part of the endoscopic procedures will precede the practical training. The techniques, in which the participants will be trained, comprise new methods of GI endoscopy such as Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR), Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD), Clipping Stenting techniques, Endoscopic polypectomy and ERCP. This course is primarily addressed to gastroenterologists-endoscopists who wish to broaden their knowledge in endoscopy; the last two-year residents will be accepted too. Due to technical and educational reasons, the number of the participants to the hands-on practice sessions will not exceed the number of 20 each day (40 in total). In consequence, priority will be given to applications strictly in the order they are received.
