Modules include lunch. HANDS-ON WORKSHOPS This advanced endoscopy workshop, with one-on-one interaction with course faculty, will allow participants to gain hands-on exposure to new and/or advanced endoscopy techniques and devices, utilizing a combination of animal models and simulators for training. The hands-on workshops are held in our state-of-the-art endoscopy center. This is the only nationally available program offering live fluoroscopy for training in ERCP and Stenting. Participants will select one of the following three modules: MODULE 1 ERCP AND ESOPHAGEAL/ENTERAL STENTING MODULE 2 DEEP ENTEROSCOPY, HEMOSTASIS, BARRETT S/MUCOSAL ABLATION MODULE 3 ENDOSCOPIC MUCOSAL RESECTION AND PERFORATION CLOSURE Due to the hands-on nature of the course, class size is limited and will be accepted on a first-come basis.

INTENDED AUDIENCE The Rocky Mountain Interventional Endoscopy 2012 Course is intended for Gastroenterologists, Gastrointestinal Surgeons, and Gastrointestinal Nurses. learning objectives At the conclusion of this activity, the participants should be able to: Improve the performance of ERCP by understanding established indications, applying techniques to optimize success, and reducing complications. Implement the best endoscopic treatments for chronic pancreatitis and determine when surgical options should be considered. Integrate new practice guidelines in the treatment of dysplastic Barrett s esophagus. Enhance an understanding for the role of endoscopy in the surveillance and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. Treat patients with complications related to bariatric surgery and understand the emerging endoscopic techniques to treat obesity. accreditation The School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
