5 Center for International Medical Education Educational Opportunities In keeping with our mission educating those who serve the Center for International Medical Education offers exceptional international education opportunities for thousands of physicians, fellows, residents, medical students, administrators and alumni worldwide each year. Cleveland Clinic Global Physician Associates will have facilitated access to the following programs: Observerships. Invitational symposia. Tours. Education programs. International Physician Observer Program More than 600 international physicians participate in our observership program each year. Participants can observe clinical interactions, participate in teaching conferences and watch surgeries. Rotations are two to four weeks in length and can be renewed for another four weeks with the consent of the observer and the supervising physician. 6 Invitational Symposia Cleveland Clinic specialists understand the importance of contributing to global medical education in collaboration with medical institutions throughout the world. Our Physician Speakers Program makes Cleveland Clinic specialists available to travel abroad to lecture and present case studies that highlight our expertise in cutting-edge procedures and novel technologies. Using sophisticated teleconference technology, we routinely offer live-case transmissions for medical symposia around the world. Participants at multiple sites can take part in these teleconferences. We also invite our respected colleagues from abroad to the many medical symposia we host in the United States each year. Tours Global Physician Associates are invited to tour our state-ofthe-art medical facilities around the world. Educational Programs The Center for International Medical Education collaborates with a number of organizations in the healthcare industry to coordinate, by request, mini-symposia within a particular specialty. These events are typically two- or three-day programs prepared for a unique group of attendees. They may include a tailored mix of lectures presenting cutting-edge procedures and novel technologies used at Cleveland Clinic, live surgeries, rounds and case presentations. Education

7 Training the Physicians of Tomorrow Fellowship Programs Cleveland Clinic sponsors one of the largest graduate medical education programs in the United States. We offer a variety of accredited and nonaccredited fellowship opportunities. We have more than 880 trainees participating in 61 programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and in 100 advanced fellowship programs. Many of these programs are available to international physicians. Administrative Fellowship Program The highly respected Administrative Fellowship Program, established at Cleveland Clinic s main campus in Ohio in 1977, provides a valuable experience early in the development of a career in healthcare administration. The program allows the Fellows to build a solid platform of leadership and project management skills within a large, integrated health system.
