2 2 For many companies from Central & Eastern Europe (CEE), to establish a business relationship with partners from the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean seems very difficult, or sometimes, impossible. For the first time in the history of the Hemispheric Congress CAMACOL, the largest forum of chambers of commerce, trade organizations, government trade agencies and corporations as well as small and medium size enterprises established in the Americas, will be organized in the heart of Europe, in Poland at ICE Congress Center in Krakow on October 9-13, Organized and known throughout the world, CAMACOL Hemispheric Congresses are very prestigious international events to promote business contacts within North and South America. The participants of the congress are representatives of various sectors of the economy of the Americas. At the Hemispheric Congress CAMACOL POLAND 2016, we are expecting more than 300 guests from around the world to meet with representatives and business partners, chambers of commerce, regional authorities from Central and Eastern European countries. The congress will include panel discussions about the possibilities of international economic cooperation in the context of the EU-CELAC (the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean), signed in Brussels in June 2015 discussion panels on negotiated the Treaty of the EU- TTIP, B2B meetings and matchmaking in fifteen different sectors of the economy. There will also be an opportunity to present and propose business cooperation in the framework of the Expo Camacol Poland in The program will also include participation in the opening of the European Congress of Small and Medium Enterprises in Katowice. Organizers are expecting about 6000 guests from 42 countries.

3 CAMACOL The Latin Chamber of Commerce of the United States, CAMACOL, is the largest Hispanic business organization in the State of Florida and one of the most influential minority business groups in the United States. For five decades, CAMACOL s mission has been to foster the entrepreneurial spirit of Florida s Hispanic and minority communities, and as such, it conducts programs to strengthen local business activity, promotes economic development, facilitates international commerce, and serves the civic needs of the community and state. CAMACOL is made up of a unique mixture of businesses across the southeast of the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean, Economic Development Organizations, Trade Promotional Organization, National and International Chambers of Commerce, including world-renowned Fortune 500 in Florida and International companies, as well as smaller start-up firms, including chambers of commerce from China, Turkey, Spain and Poland. Its members come from a wide range of industries and fields, from high-tech manufacturing to professional services. CAMACOL has approximately 3,000 business members and over 1 million affiliate business members across Latin America. It promotes the state of Florida s official slogan: Florida, Gateway to the Americas working closely with the State of Florida, Enterprise Florida, Miami Dade County, Port Miami, the City of Miami, and the Greater Miami Conventions and Visitors Bureau, among others. Through its Hemispheric Congress, its flagship program, CAMACOL, has provided businesses with the opportunity of establishing commercial linkages in the domestic and international marketplace for almost four decades. CAMACOL works with our community leaders and partners on a local, statewide, national and international level to ensure that our economy recovers and grows. Our programs focus on fostering job creation, retention and development. In essence, CAMACOL s mission as an economic developer is to strengthen and develop the small and minority business sectors and to facilitate activities that foster economic growth and jobs. HEMISPHERIC CONGRESS CAMACOL The Hemispheric Congress program was established 37 years ago and is a unique program due to its infrastructure. Its governing body is an International Permanent Secretariat, which is comprised of the presidents of the national chambers of commerce throughout Latin America, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean. Camacol currently has 25 countries represented in our Hemispheric Congress, and these include countries from the Americas, China, Turkey, Spain and Poland. Its mission is to facilitate direct contact from chamber to chamber with over 25 Countries across the Americas, China and Poland, as well as assist with business development through the chamber s member database and contacts under our Business Match Making Platform 3

4 PERMANENT SECRETARIAT The members of the board are delegate members and presidents of national chambers of commerce and industry from the region and the permanent secretariat has a variety of responsibilities. Its prime directive is to carry out the mission of the Congress and ensure the dissemination of the agreements, conclusions and recommendations adopted by its board, as well as to coordinate the activities related to the organization of the annual congress event. The Chairmanship of the Hemispheric Congress is held by a CAMACOL board member and the presidency of the secretariat alternates among the international directors, representing different countries. The current Chairman of the Hemispheric Congress is Mr. Willy Gort, the commissioner of the City of Miami and the current President of Permanent Secretariat and 37 th Hemispheric Congress is Mr. Carlos Fernández, who is also President of Panamanian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture. He has been elected for the period of The new upcoming President of Permanent Secretariat and 38 th Hemispheric Congress is Mr. Leszek Ladowski, who is also the President of the Polish American Chamber of Commerce of Florida & the Americas, Inc. The Directors of the Permanent Secretariat meet twice a year to outline new programs, analyze sector specific trends and policies, draft resolutions and recommendations, and establish advocacy campaigns. It is the responsibility of this board to implement the policy agreements in each of the member-countries. CAMACOL not only oversees this process, but also coordinates these activities and acts as a liaison between the public and private sectors of the region, including the United States of America. The members of this board also generate and approve the central theme of each annual Hemispheric Congress at the First Annual Meeting of the Members of the Permanent Secretariat, seat of the current president. These meetings are held annually in conjunction with a trade development seminar and goodwill/trade mission.

5 POLISH PRESIDENCY OF PERMANENT SECRETARIAT Next June 2016, at the annual Hemispheric Congress in Miami, Florida, Poland will take over the presidency of the Permanent Secretariat and the Hemispheric Congress for the period of The 38 th Camacol Hemispheric Congress will be celebrated from October 9 th to 13 th, 2016 in Krakow, Poland. According to Leszek Ladowski, president of Polish American Chamber of Commerce of Florida and the Americas and upcoming president of Permanent Secretariat, the central theme of the Polish Presidency will be: GO AMERICAS: Florida - Gateway To The Americas; Poland - Gateway To Central & Eastern Europe. It is expected that business people from over 25 different countries will come to Poland to explore business opportunities between Central & Eastern Europe and their respective countries and regions. The Polish Presidency is also responsible to organize the meeting of all international Directors of permanent Secretariat to propose the business agenda for the next Hemispheric Congress Camacol in Miami and upcoming years. It is a great opportunity for local regional and central government as well as trade organizations to cooperate with the organizational committee and propose area(s) of common interest for the years to come.

6 7 PILLARS OF THE POLISH PRESIDENCY OF THE PERMANENT SECRETARIAT At the upcoming Hemispheric Congress Camacol to be celebrated in Miami June 6 to 9, 2016 Poland will take over the Presidency of the Permanent Secretariat and its seven pillars will be: TRADE & INVESTMENT we will discuss trade agreements (EU-TTIP, EU-CELAC), regional trade agreements (Mercosur, CAFTA, CARICOM and others), as well as analyze business opportunities with EU members and more closely with Central & Eastern European countries INNOVATION TECHNOLOGY innovation across 15 industries in which Poland and the CEE region is very competitive (Aviation, Pharmaceutical, Agriculture, Cosmetics, IT, Food & Beverage, Furniture, among others). TOURISM: with focus on medical and business tourism FILM, ART, MEDIA & CULTURE (FAMC) - we are planning Latin Film festival WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP AIR & SEA LOGISTICS EDUCATION

7 EXISTING TRADE BETWEEN CEE COUNTRIES AND THE AMERICAS IN 2014 $51,189,523,175 Existing trade between selected (10) ten CEE (Central & Eastern Europe) countries and the US, Latin American and the Caribbean was $51,189,523,175 dollars in the year The VISEGRAD GROUP (V4) represents $38,240,462,920 of the above mentioned trade, which is 74.7% of all trade with the Americas. It is also important to underline that trade between the US and 10 mentioned countries tripled from 11.2 billion dollars in the year 2000 to over 34.4 billion dollars in the year 2014.

8 ABOUT PACC After the political changes in Poland starting in 1990, there was a need to establish an organization which would foster international trade relations with Poland. The South Florida area represents a gateway not only to the United States but South America and the Caribbean. Florida controls about 70% of trade between the USA and Latin America and the Caribbean. This geographic location is strategically important to Polish business organizations. Its two large airports, port facilities, financial institutions have a great potential for Polish investors and exporters. At that time the Polish Chamber of Florida and the Americas, Inc. was the first such organization in the United States. Mr. Anthony Edward Kruszewski, a leading Polish American businessman in Florida, President and CEO of USAirMotive, and Prof. Dr. Zdzislaw P. Wesolowski, Professor of Business and Economics at Florida Memorial University, established the Chamber in During these years the Chamber participated in various international trade missions, hosted Polish Expos and visiting businessmen and government officials from Poland. For their service and contribution to Poland, Mr. Kruszewski was awarded the officers cross of the Polish Order of Merit. Prof. Wesolowski was decorated with the Commander s Cross of the Polish Order of Merit by President Lech Walesa in Leszek Ładowski is current President of the Polish American Chamber of Commerce of Florida and the Americas, Inc. In 2012 in recognition for his outstanding services to the Polish-American Community, he was awarded Officer s Cross of The Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland. For many years, he lived in Venezuela and traveled across Latin America, so he is fluent in Polish. Spanish, and English.

9 POLISH EMBASSADOR TO THE US ABOUT CAMACOL Such beautiful places that combine outstanding attractiveness with the right climate for business are few and far between. Miami, Florida has managed to combine the extraordinary beauty of the Atlantic coast with vibrant commercial and industrial business centers. Today, Miami is not only a target of thousands of people looking for entertainment and recreation, but also a developing and dynamic business mecca that is also attracting business people from all around the globe. About 10 years ago, I made an analysis of the movement of capital, goods and services in the region. It turned out that a significant part of the trade of Latin America from the US and Europe is made here in this city where Spanish is equally, if not more popular than English. Alas, guests of the great trade shows and expos are the top business leaders from Mexico, the Caribbean, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Venezuela. For the first time, together with the president of the Polish-American Chamber of Commerce in Florida, Mr. Leszek Ładowski, we met there in 2013, during the annual Hemispheric Congress CAMACOL (Association of Chambers of Commerce in Latin America). The Polish presence has become a kind of sensation. Last year, the initiative of the Polish Embassy in Washington and the Chamber already attracted more than 70 companies from Poland, who participated in several days of presentations and discussions. The challenges are significant: a huge market south of the United States and the entire Latin American continent. Is it that simple? To find a business partner or importer of Paraguay or Bolivia does not have to travel to Asuncion and La Paz. Just come to Miami, where you can be assisted with Polish advisors which are familiar with the local markets and their rules and if we add to this the chance to direct air connections between Warsaw and Miami, which LOT promises us, things seems indisputable.
