31 $2.3 billion capital improvement program at the airport Fort Lauderdale Airport s new, $826 million runway runs parallel to Fort Lauderdale s existing 9000 foot runway. It will allow Fort Lauderdale to operate simultaneous landings and departures, expanding capacity at the airport to up to 425,000 flights annually, up from 260,000 at present. Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport (FLL) will spend $650 million to modernize terminals. SECURING FLORIDA S FUTURE
