2 GENERAL INFORMATION A GROUP MUST BE MADE UP OF AT LEAST 10 PEOPLE WHO ARE TRAVELLING TOGETHER. GROUP REQUESTS Group requests can be made from 140 days prior to departure up until 48 prior to departure. For Eurostar this is extended to 180 days prior to departure. PLEASE NOTE: Please note that SNCF applies an IATA ticketing policy. Each passenger has a physical ticket, which will display their coach and seat number. Only Italo (trains in Italy) and Renfe (trains in Spain) fares are available as e-tickets. If you would like to make a group booking, please be aware of the time frames which apply in terms of payment and delivery these may take several days so please plan ahead! FARES Once group fares have opened for sale we will be able to quote you. Please note that fares are provided for information purposes only and are only available as long as seats in the given fare are still available, this applies to both first and standard class seats. Fares or seats will not be guaranteed until a booking has been confirmed. The fare will be set by SNCF depending on availability. If a request is made to far in advance (it could be that tickets are not yet on sale). That s not a problem! Send us all of the details and we will make a request as and when those fares become available. N.B.: Various group discounts may apply but these depend on the fare and the availability. THE BENEFITS FOR YOU Booking through Voyages-SNCF has a number of advantages: A single contact person; a single request; the same fare for all people travelling; a single invoice; Groups travel together and are not dispersed on board trains; More flexible cancellation terms than some Public fares (e.g. Prem s fares). These benefits mean that Group fares are not always cheaper than Public fares. 3 BOOKING TERMS BOOKING IS COMPULSORY FOR ALL GROUP JOURNEYS. A GROUP MUST BE MADE UP OF AT LEAST 10 PEOPLE WHO ARE TRAVELLING TOGETHER. HOW CAN I BOOK OR GET A QUOTE? If you have access to our website, which is exclusively for travel professionals, log on to and complete the form which is under the Groups tab in the Express Booking section. Alternatively, go to the Produits page, click on Groupes and then Reservation. Complete the form (the departure date and time, the origin and destination, the number of passengers in each age range, the class of service, the services required at stations and/or on board, etc.); Use the Add a route button if the journey is made up of several segments and/or of a return journey; Use the Comments field to provide details of alternative travel dates in the event that the original request cannot be fulfilled; Click Send. PROCESSING YOUR REQUEST Once Voyages-SNCF has received your request, you will receive a receipt which gives a reference number. This reference number should be quoted in all correspondence with Voyages-SNCF, in relation to your group request. Voyages-SNCF will then process the request. As soon as Voyages-SNCF has had a response from the carrier in question, you will receive a quote, along with an expiry date and time, before which you should confirm the booking or cancel the request. If you decide to confirm the Voyage-SNCF quote, we must receive conformation by which must be received before the expiry date and time set out in the quote. N.B.: It is important that you always reply to the initial so that all the correspondence are part of a single request conversation. After you have given your formal agreement to Voyages-SNCF by , you will receive an invoice which must be paid by bank transfer immediately. The tickets will be sent to you as soon as the total invoice sum is paid. Please note that in the event that a ticket is lost or stolen, a fee is charged for a replacement ticket. Travel agents who have a contractual agreement with Voyages-SNCF and use direct debit for their payments can also use that method of payment for their group bookings. In the event of a last-minute group booking request, please note that the time required to process a request and to issue and deliver tickets by post cannot be shortened. 4 ADDITIONAL SERVICES CATERING SERVICES ON BOARD A payable at seat catering service is available. We can provide you with the contact details of the person responsible for booking this service. If you have any questions regarding this service, see the section Contact us on page 1 of this guide. LUGGAGE In France, there are two luggage handling options: Luggage can be taken to the train in question items of luggage are brought on a trolley to the train, but the group must get them onto and off of the train; Full luggage service items of luggage are also put onto the train and taken off of it. 5 FARE TERMS CARRIERS TGV, INTERCITÉS, TER, TGV BRUXELLES-PROVINCE, TGV LUXEMBOURG-PARIS, TGV FRIBOURG-PARIS, TGV/ICE FRANCE-GERMANY, TGV LYRIA, TGV FRANCE-ITALY, TGV/AVE FRANCE-SPAIN CARRIERS THALYS, EUROSTAR, ITALO, RENFE NOTHING CHANGES! NEW FARE TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY! The Group Profile no longer exists and SNCF has reverted to a Passenger profile concept; Three passenger profiles, give three fare levels Groups of Adults, Groups of Youths aged 12 to 27 and Groups of Children, the child fare is now equivalent to half of a youth fare and no longer to half of an adult fare; These terms apply to groups of at least 10 people; no minimum number is required for each profile; Tickets for adults accompanying a group of youths or children are no longer being sold at the same price as fares that apply to youths or children. A new maximum age for youths is set at 27 (the last the day before a person s 28th birthday). The Group Profile still applies, as do the three fare levels Groups of Adults over 26, Groups of Youths aged 12 to 25 and Groups of Children aged 4 to 11 ; A Group of Youths must be made up of at least 10 youths. If the group is made up of nine youths and one adult, all the passengers pay the adult fare; Discounted fares for an adult accompanying groups of 10 or more youths still exist: For Thalys: A group made up of 10 youths and 1 adult the adult pays the Youth fare; A group made up of 11 to 20 youths 2 adults pay the Youth fare; A group made up of 21 to 30 youths 3 adults pay the Youth fare. 7 PRACTICAL ADVICE ALLOW PLENTY OF TIME TO MAKE CONNECTIONS To make customers' journeys easier, it is advised that you allow the following: 20 minutes for a group of up to 99 passengers; 45 minutes for a group with luggage, or a group of 100 or more, or when a luggage handling service has been requested; At least 30 minutes for a group without luggage in some stations which are not suited for groups, such as Lyon-Part-Dieu, Montpellier, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Nantes and Rennes. However, certain recommendations apply in some stations: Massy TGV Allow 45 minutes to make a connection. The lay-out of the station and the type of trains which serve it, makes changing trains difficult. Lyon Part Dieu At least 30 minutes for groups of less than 60 passengers and 45 minutes for groups of over 60 passengers. Lille Flandres to and from Lille Europe Groups changing trains in Lille should allow at least 1 hour to get from one station to the other. Lille Europe (Eurostar) When travelling from France to the United Kingdom: allow 1 hour for connections as check-in is required before boarding Eurostar at Lille Europe. Between stations in Paris No connections, it is the customer s responsibility to allow enough time to get the connecting train. It will not be possible to delay the departure of the connecting train. CHANGING STATION IN PARIS When travelling to Paris by train as part of a journey to an onward destination, the connecting train to that destination may depart from another station in Paris. The stations in Paris and details of services that depart from these stations, along with a map of the metro and RER network are listed below: Gare du Nord in Paris: Trains to northern France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and the UK. Gare de Lyon in Paris: Trains to the Languedoc-Roussillon region (Montpellier, etc.), the Provence-Alpes-Côte d Azur region (the French Riviera, Marseille, Nice, etc.), Switzerland and Italy. Gare Montparnasse in Paris: Trains to Brittany, to the south-west of France and to Spain (to the Atlantic coast of Spain). Gare d Austerlitz in Paris: Trains to the central France and to Spain (to the Mediterranean coast of Spain). Gare Saint-Lazare in Paris: Trains to the Normandy region. Gare de l Est: Trains Alsace, Lorraine and Champagne-Ardenne regions, and to Luxembourg and Germany. Gare de Paris-Bercy: The Auto-train station (trains that transport cars). Tip: Paris metro/rer tickets are available in some international train stations and also on board some high-speed trains, including Thalys services. Planning ahead means that you can save a few minutes and avoid additional stress when trying to make a connecting train! PRACTICAL ADVICE
