2 . The following stem-and-leaf plots display the scores on a 00-point chapter test for students in two Algebra I classes taught by Mr. Ortega. There are 5 students in each class. (Key: 5 represents a score of 5.) For the st period class, the mean score is 7 and the median is 75. For the 4th period class, the mean is 75 and the median is 7. Based on analyzing these data and looking at the plots, which conclusion should Mr. Ortega make about teaching these two classes? a. The median score for the 4th period class is higher, so I should give that class more difficult tests. b. The students in both classes are doing about the same on the average, so I should teach both classes exactly the same way. c. Because about a quarter of the students in the st period class got failing grades (below 0), I should give that class easier tests than the 4th period class. d. The st period class scores are much more spread out, with more students scoring very high or very low than in the 4th period class. I could have students in the st period class work in groups, with the stronger students helping the weaker ones.
