1 Course Outlines 1. Name of the Course: Algebra I (Standard, College Prep, Honors) Course Description: ALGEBRA I STANDARD (1 Credit) This course will cover Algebra I concepts such as algebra as a language, as well as solving and graphing linear equations. The expectation is that all learners will develop an understanding of this content. ALGEBRA I COLLEGE PREPARATORY (1 Credit) This is a first-year algebra course designed for college preparatory students. The expectation is that all learners will understand, apply and integrate this content. Recommendation: B or better in pre-algebra at MSK ALGEBRA I Honors (1 Credit) This is a first-year Algebra course taught with an honors-level curriculum. Topics include, but are not limited to, solving/graphing linear and quadratic equations and inequalities, solving systems of equations, and properties of exponents. Student enrollment in this course is based on the MSK teacher recommendation.

Solve absolute value equations and inequalities and interpret the results. e. Apply the understanding that the solution(s) to equations of the form f(x) = g(x) are the x value(s) of the point(s) of intersection of the graphs of f(x) and g(x) and common outputs in table of values. f. Explain why the coordinates of the point of intersection of the lines represented by a system of equations is its solution and apply this understanding to solving problems. Functions and Relations a.
