10 FSMS ISO & FSSC Lead Auditor Course Our FSMS (ISO & FSSC 22000) Lead Auditor Course is delivered over 5 days (Exemplar Global TPECS Modules FS & TL and FSSC requirements & ISO/TS ) and qualifies auditors to audit ISO and FSSC based food safety management systems. This course provides an overview of food safety management systems (FSMS) and discusses ISO in detail, the FSSC Scheme and its Additional Requirements in detail, summarises pre-requisite programs (PRPs) and ISO/TS Part 1: Food Manufacturing in detail. Leading Audit Teams and the auditing process are also covered. Activities throughout the course allow participants to demonstrate their competence in respective course criteria and the course culminates in a role play third party audit of a FSMS followed by a written examination of those criteria that can t be covered during the role play. Separate presentations and on-line examinations are available for other PRPs which may be required for FSSC auditing, including ISO/TS Parts (PRPs): ISO/TS Part 3: Farming animals ISO/TS Part 4: Packaging PAS 222: Animal Feed 10

12 Internal Auditing Course Our Internal Auditing course is delivered across 2 days and provides an understanding of the requirements of auditing and to qualify participants to conduct internal audits of management systems. This course is Exemplar Global (TPECS) certified Module AU (AU760). Who Should Attend? 13 ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 14001:2015 Introduction The new versions: ISO 9001:2015, Quality Management Systems Requirements and, ISO 14001:2015, Environmental Management Systems Requirements with guidance for use, have now been published. Standards Australia will publish them as Australian Standards in due course without changing any content. Currently certified clients have a three year transition period to the requirements of the new Standards. JLB is running seminars that will identify the changes made to the new ISO Standards for Quality Management (ISO 9001) and Environmental Management (ISO 14001), and explain the new requirements. The transition requirements for certification to the new Standards will also be discussed. This is a one day seminar, half a day for each standard. Attendees can choose to enrol for one or both sessions. Who Should Attend? Anyone certified to ISO 9001 and/or ISO Businesses thinking about becoming certified Business owners Management Representatives Internal Auditors Anyone working directly with a quality management system or environmental management system. What are the Main Changes? Structure the main change is that all management system standards are now published in a common structure and format with common terminology, facilitating easier integration of management systems. There is no particular requirement for clients to change their documentation to meet the new structure, however any referencing to ISO clauses will need to be connected. Strategic management there is a new requirement to understand the organisation s context (ie the relevant issues and requirements) and what external parties might be interested in the management system. 13

14 Risk as with all new management system standards, there is a greater focus on a risk based approach to management. Leadership the requirement for top management involvement in the management systems has been strengthened and there is a new requirement to promote quality and environmental management through other managers. Documentation there is no longer any formal requirement for documented procedures, however we strongly advise clients to maintain procedures where they are considered helpful. These half day workshops will provide participants with a summary of the new requirements and, particularly, discuss the requirements of each Standard. 15 Management Representative Course The role of the Management Representative is to ensure the management system is performing accordingly. This can be a daunting task for a newly appointed representative. Our Management Representative course is delivered in 1 day and provides an understanding of managing and maintaining a management system to meet the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO and/or AS 4801 certification. The course aims to teach the skills necessary to ensure simple maintenance of any management system. Who Should Attend? 16 Understanding Food Microbiology Gain an understanding of microbiology with a food focus. This course provides the necessary skills to interpret food and water laboratory reports, and to make informed decisions based on those results. The emphasis is on practical ways to gain more from testing and how those results can be used to demonstrate that food is safe. Who Should Attend? This Course is ideal for personnel who need a basic introduction to microbiology to enable them to gain a better understanding of food borne pathogens and their impact on food safety. Course Structure Upon successful completion of this course, participants will have an understanding of micro-organisms and how to identify them; pathogens and the potential risks associated with particular foods and processes; microbiological standards and how to test for microbes in food, including sampling techniques and reading of laboratory reports; appreciate the differences between food poisoning and food spoilage, and identify potential hazards in food handling, storage, service and display. Topics covered include: Classification of micro-organisms, their characteristics and sources Types of foods and food processes and what pathogens are likely to occur Examples of food borne outbreaks Microbial sampling and test methods Interpretation of microbial test results Microbial standards and criteria.
