5 Machines range As a market leader, we always have characterized our machines by a very long life and the highest level of technology available on the market. Components and structure are all subject to very strong tests and to quality controls in order to ensure that every single unit is manufactured following the best level of quality possible. 6 Design & Moulds Design and technology, an indispensable combination in these days, an essential marketing tool and the lynchpin of a consumer culture that is ever-more attentive to aesthetics and practicality. We learnt very early that this is a vital need and we have subsequently set up an internal division dedicated to moulds which aims to become a center of excellence. Proper mould design starts with a container shape which meets marketing requirements yet also economically viable industrial production. Given the complexities of the container production process, the manufacturer of high tech EBM machines is in an ideal position to provide solutions that meet the needs of the various parties. The experience in design and development of new containers has brought us to acquire a huge know-how and to avoid the problems that can come out when it is applied to an industrial production. This is also possible thanks to a modern internal laboratory which allows us to control every single aspect of the bottle, such as the distribution of the material on 360, the repeatability in terms of weight, dimensions, capacity, the resistance to top load, to drop tests, the thickness of multilayer structures. 8 Spare parts customer service Maintenance is a key point of industrial success nowadays, high investments for machines or complete lines bring results when it takes into account an appropriately long period of production during which productivity must remain constant. In order to meet the demand of maintenance parts, we have created a dedicated staff with highly qualified technicians and multi-lingual sales people. Spare parts for routine maintenance or machine breakdowns are easily identifiable thanks to the detailed user manuals provided with the equipment, which contain exploded views of the main groups of components and some useful information concerning ordinary maintenance. Identification codes on all components, widespread availability of parts in all industrially developed countries, an efficient order processing system and fast delivery are the key parameters to make production restart with short delays. Maintenance and inspection visits also make sure that production plants have a long working life ; this will involve the upgrading of some units to boost the performance, the replacement of worn parts after some years of constant work with newer ones or the overhauling of old machines. 9 Laboratory service As a top class service company, we are equipped with an internal laboratory which allows us to control a lot of parameters related to the containers produced. Our standard controls on bottles are: -dimensional measurement -thickness control and plastic distribution -layers distribution -top load -drop test -leakage test Our equipment is validated for CP/CPK analysis and to perform preliminary test in case of UN approval for dangerous goods. The full control of the containers measurement allows to validate bottles specifications and to set up the best process parameters. Laboratory is available for customized tests as a stand alone service, as an example to achieve a weight reduction or to optimize the profile distribution of the containers produced. A rendering service is also available for our customers in order to create and to propose various shapes and families of containers. Laboratory tests are a crucial part of the process, to ensure not only that the machine is performing correctly but that the bottles produced are made in the best way possible.

11 Aseptic blowing system When we talk about aseptic, we talk about safety and about the capability to supply on the market 100% of safe and sterile products in sterile containers. Finding reliable and capable suppliers is obviously fundamental for the companies which work with such products, in food or pharmaceutical fields. Aseptic standard process includes the sterilization of the bottles before filling (internal and external), which implicates the use of chemicals like Oxonia (peroxyacetic acid / hydrogen peroxide) and water rinsing after treatment. This can be tricky when bottles present particular shapes with dead areas and it becomes difficult to assure that there is no residual chemical after treatment, which could alterate the final taste of the product. To avoid this issue, a lot of companies opt for a technology which allows to directly feed the filling unit with sterile bottles, without the need of rinsing the inside part. The principle of aseptic blowing has been developed on TECHNE machines in 1992 and it is used on numerous dairy lines worldwide. It consists of a sophisticated system which filters the air used to form the bottles and which sterilizes the air piping circuit using steam and therefore without any chemical agent. The result is a sealed and sterile bottle which comes out from the extrusion blow-moulding machine, before to be stored in silos or to be directly sent to the sterile chamber for filling. The technology is applied on full electric machines for medium and high production capacity and it represents the best solution to assure the original flavour of the product together to a safe and consolidated process.

12 Full Electric Full electric technology has been adopted by quite all extrusion blowmoulding machine manufacturers nowadays, it is a fact that moving towards that direction has brought many advantages to final users, a lower electric consumption, less maintenance, higher repeatability of the movements and therefore better quality of the produced containers and constancy of production and process parameters. The evolution from the first machines produced in 2007 and the performance obtained on the last generation models are amazing if you consider the period of time since when full electric units were introduced on the market. Techne was one of the first companies to believe in that evolution of technology applied on EBM and the studies and innovation developed in the last years has been remarkable. Energy consumption has dropped by 35% compared to hydraulic technology, today ADVT has an average consumption of 0,27 kwh/kg of plastic extruded in monolayer configuration and 0,30 kwh/kg in multi-layer. Maintenance is reduced by 70% and a lot of features like the shuttle lubrication are automatic and settable from the PLC. On top of that, the high speed BUS wiring decreases of 50% the number of low potency wires and therefore also the quantity of electro-mechanical failures. ADVANCE series has a considerable number of machines in operation and one of the last model presented a couple of years ago is a very good combination of what high technology, simplicity and easy-use can possibly be.

13 Integrated Blow-fill unit Back in 2012, TECHNE was introducing to the market a new machine concept, which was able to combine the process of blowing and the complexity of filling polyethylene bottles with a significantly high efficiency, being a synchronized mono-bloc unit. Today, there is a necessity to reduce the total cost of ownership and to optimize process to reach a high reliability with state of the art machines and this concept is more than ever actual and sensible. Particularly suitable for liquid products such as dairy but also for different applications as detergent or personal care, TECHNE was one of the first manufacturer to launch full electric machines, which ensure low maintenance, low consumption and high repeatability of the produced bottles keeping dimensional accuracy at its highest level compared to other EBM machines. Flexibility at its best ; UNIKA can handle containers produced in monolayer or with barriers for light and oxygen up to 6 layers. Space-floor reduction ; UNIKA eliminates the need of bottle transport, storage and unscrambling. The machine allows an optimization of the spaces and only need one operator to manage the whole process. Value creation ; UNIKA allows the immediate conversion of packaging material and liquid food in a final product without intermediate stock and subsequent faster added value creation. On top of that, it is suitable to insert an in-mould labeling system which gives an even more unique touch to the bottle produced.
