1 The Dashboard Overview The Dashboard is a tool for managing essential student achievement and teacher effectiveness data in support of the district s Empowering Effective Teachers initiative. The Dashboard project is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The Dashboard streamlines access to performance data, enabling timely adjustment of instructional and/or management practices. Dashboards are designed with principals and teachers in mind and use metrics geared towards school management and classroom instruction. Dashboard Tells Us Trends in school data (grade, subjects, subgroup, etc.) Scores by teacher (compare formative and state testing to classroom assessments) Student score (Student Profile tracks individual student progress) Alerts (Alerts help users stay focused on things that need attention) Dashboard DOES NOT Totally replace the need for data walls Provide prescriptive advice Take the place of common sense and best practice vjs

Report Information Report Footer & Navigation Customize the report results by selecting appropriate parameters from the filter area Help text available by clicking either the blue question mark or blue informational icon Click on links indicated by underlined blue text Click or individual data points on the chart to display a table containing the corresponding details Print (in PDF), export (PDF or Excel), and view options are located in the report toolbar vjs

4 DASHBOARD TABS Dashboard Tabs and Reports Home Alerts GREEN (circle) - notification related to upward trending YELLOW (diamond) - caution notification for downward trends approaching data thresholds RED (caution sign) - cautionary notification for trends when compared to data thresholds BLUE (circle) - information updates and changes within the data SUPERgraph The Student Upward Performance Evaluation Report provides trending information for all subject areas. The chart background includes performance bands (indicated in green, yellow, and red) that have been designed to represent multiple measures of assessment on a common scale. Dailies Student Attendance/ SEMS (Principals) Student Disciplinary Action Student Achievement Overview SUPERgraph with additional filtering options Assessments (Reading, Math, Writing, Science) Assessment score chart with assessment specific percentages stacked in relation to the appropriate performance bands (as indicated by the colors green, yellow, and red) Grade Distribution (Secondary Sites Only) Overview of the grade distribution for a selected course Quality Points and Honor Roll (Secondary Sites Only) Number of students missing quality points by subject area Number of students on each level of Honor Roll for academic and conduct At-Risk Students Indicators that may be directly correlated to factors affecting student performance Number of students populating specific ranges of risk factors At-Risk Indicator Information guide vjs
