All bills must pass out of their first policy committee by the beginning of May, many bills impacting community colleges will be considered. Here are some examples of those being tracked by the League Concurrent Enrollment Momentum Builds: Over 75 organizations, including many school districts, social justice groups, and community colleges, have submitted letters and resolutions in support of AB 288 (Holden), the College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) Act. AB 963 (Bonilla) Recent audits have questioned the eligibility of certain educational administrators to participate CalSTRS. The result has been that a number of community college employees, through no fault on of their own, risk removal from CalSTRS. This bill would prevent removal of pensioners Campus Safety Legislation - A number of bills are before the Assembly Higher Education Committee. They range from clarifying that a district can expel a student for actions occurring off campus to mandating that a student s transcript reflect any sexual violent act.
