2 SJCC Interim President, Dr. Byron Clift Breland Dr. Breland, SJCC Interim President, comes from the Long Beach Community College District where he has served as the Associate Vice President of the Pacific Coast Campus for the past five years. As the primary executive administrative officer of the campus, he provided leadership to ensure that the instructional, student services and administrative operations on the campus functioned effectively. Dr. Breland s administrative experience is extensive and includes positions at the University of Maryland at College Park, the University of Southern California, the University of California, Irvine, Santa Ana College, and Long Beach City College. Dr. Breland s career is also distinguished by his involvement with the broader community, working with a diverse constituency of community leaders. His experience in resource development, community involvement, and his publications on African American and Latino student success are impressive and relevant on issues impacting community college students. Dr. Breland holds a Bachelor s of Science degree in consumer economics and a Master s of Science degree in Family Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park. He also has a Master of Science degree in Education and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Counseling Psychology, both from the University of Southern California.

3 Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs Duncan Graham Mr. Graham (SJCC Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs) has been a Vice President of Instruction most recently at College of Alameda and also at College of the Sequoias since July Prior to College of the Sequoias he was at Foothill College for 21 years where he held two interim VP positions, was Dean of Fine Arts and Communication, an adjunct faculty (freeway flier to three colleges), and a classified staff member. He holds a Master s degree in Theatre Arts, and spent 15 years as a professional stage manager before starting his career in academia.

4 Interim Assistant Director of Fiscal Services Seher Awan Mrs. Awan joins us from Valencia College in Orlando, FL. Mrs. Awan brings with her strong organizational skills and vast knowledge in business practices, community college procedures, and government compliance. She received her Master s in Public Administration and Master s in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge. She is currently pursuing her Ed.D in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University and has also obtained numerous leadership and faculty certificates. Mrs. Awan has worked for community colleges in Florida and California and received congressional recognition as a Top 40 Under Forty Award Recipient. She is passionate about education, helping students, professional development, and international travel and relief. She is excited to begin this new chapter at San Jose City College.

5 Interim Dean of Math and Science / Business and Workforce Development Victor Krimsley Dr. Krimsley started on August 01, 2013 as Interim Dean of Business, Math, Sciences, and Workforce Development at San Jose City College. Dr. Krimsley earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from U.C. Berkeley and comes to us with a vast range of community college experience. He started his career as a Chemistry instructor at Hartnell College and served in this position for more than 20 years. He then went on to several administrative positions including Dean of Science and Math, Vice President of Instruction at Hartnell, 2 Interim Dean positions, Interim Vice President, and Acting President at San Mateo and Gavilan Colleges.

6 Director of Kinesiology Lamel Harris Mr. Harris holds a B.A. in Social Work from Carroll College and a M.S. in Marital and Family Therapy from Cal State Dominguez Hills. He has strong roots in the community and is also a graduate of West Valley College. Mr. Harris comes to us with a wealth of experience having served as the Director of Athletics at College of the Sequoias since 2007.

7 Business & Workforce Development Jagrup Kahlon: Medical Assisting Dr. Kahlon received her Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cell Biology from San José State University and her Doctorate of Medicine from Central American Health Sciences University in Belize. She has served as both a scientist and clinician, performing her clinical duties in Juarez, Mexico. She has been an instructor at Boston Reed College in Clinical Medical Assisting an adjunct faculty member at SJCC in Medical Assisting.

8 Math and Science Hassan Rahim: Mathematics Dr. Rahim received his Ph.D. in Physics, with a minor in Mathematics, from Temple University. He has served as an adjunct faculty member at San José City College since 2008 and was a courseware developer at a software company in Palo Alto, California. He is certified to teach online courses and has used social media and Web 2.0 technology to increase student participation in his courses.

9 Math and Science Lucas Randall: Mathematics Mr. Randall received both his bachelor s and master s degrees in Mathematics from the University of California, Riverside. He has served as an adjunct faculty member at San José City College since 2011 and previously taught Precalculus, Algebra, and Trigonometry at UC Riverside as a University Lecturer. Outside of teaching, he is a member of the Foothill Dance Company and trains with the Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Association, where he holds a black belt.

10 Counseling Lisa Brillon: Sr. Div. Administrative Asst. Mrs. Brillon is the new Senior Division Administrative Assistant to the SJCC Counseling Department. She has been with SJECCD for 16 years. Mrs. Brillon was a Sales Coordinator /Program Assistant at Workforce Institute for many years, a Program Assistant for the CalWORKs Department and the Academic Senate, and most recently worked in the Admissions & Records Department at City College. Her education background is in Customer Service and Business Administration.
