2 Radcon Formula #7 s eco-friendly properties help green The Pearl apartments, Kuala Lumpur COUNTRY: Malaysia The Pearl TREATED AREAS: Roof, basement, pool, water features, podium deck and planter boxes SIZE: 21,380 square metres The Pearl s landscaping and water features were all waterproofed with Radcon #7 The Developers of this prestigious Malaysian project had lots of green areas within the development and were looking for environmentally products to use throughout the project. Radcon #7 was used on the trafficable podium decks, swimming pools, water features, rooftop and planter boxes. Radcon #7 fills the pores and capillaries of the concrete with a glass hard gel. Water cannot leak through it, plant roots cannot penetrate it and the presence of water regenerates Radcon #7 to seal any future hairline cracking. Radcon #7 is suitable for potable water and has many certificates around the world to support this including the Singapore Institute of Standards & Industrial Research Standard 245 testing for potable water. It does not emit VOC s and is proven to be non-toxic by its use in aquariums and fish ponds. Radcon #7 has the prestigious Singapore Green Label approval and has been assessed by Ecospecifier. It can be used to gain green credits in environmental assessment programs such as LEED, BREEAM, ESTIDAMA PEARLS and GREEN MARK. Unlike membranes, Radcon will not have to be removed every 10 or 15 years due to degradation and used as landfill: it remains active in the concrete for life! Designed by Andrew Tan Architects, developed by Far East Organisation, built by Neo Corporation. Claimed to be the most advanced high tech condominiums in Singapore, every home is fully automated with the Proteq 8X, one of the world s most intelligent home automation and security systems. Dover Parkview boasts one of Singapore s best private landscaped gardens designed by Belt Collins, the landscape architect behind the famous Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore. As part of the resort living atmosphere, Dover Parkview has a full range of recreational facilities. These include an underwater-music swimming pool, children s play pool, Jacuzzi, euro bath, sauna, outdoor fitness station, gymnasium, four tennis courts, BBQ pits and more. The project is located off Dover Road, close to established schools, tertiary institutions and major conduits like the Ayer Rajah Expressway. In addition, residents can look forward to an air-conditioned shuttle service between Dover Parkview, Buona Vista MRT Station and the popular Holland Village. Radcon Formula # 7 was used as the exclusive waterproofing system for this project. The product was used in applications covering everything from high thermal stress slabs to water holding vessels to rooftop gardens totally some 50,000 square metres of waterproofing. This site combined planter boxes and extensive landscaping over the podium level as seen above. Importantly plant roots will not attack the integrity of the Radcon Formula # 7 waterproofing treatment. All bathrooms in the 600+ condominiums were all waterproofed with Radcon Formula # 7. As the product penetrates into the concrete there is minimal risk of damage from other trades such as tilers. Even when traditional membranes are installed correctly they can be easily damaged after installation, Radcon Formula # 7 eliminates this problem.

4 CHIJMES, SINGAPORE COUNTRY: Singapore Chijmes ENGINEER: Ove Arup ARCHITECT: Ong and Ong Pte Ltd YEAR: 1996 SIZE: 3,000 sq mtrs Figure 1: Upper and lower courtyards Radcon Formula #7 waterproofs fountains, planters, and landscaped areas at the popular entertainment quarter in the green centre of Singapore. The original building was constructed in 1854 as Singapore's stunning mission school, formerly known as CHIJMES. This has now been transformed into a haven for fine dining and shopping in the heart of Singapore's heritage trail. Radcon Formula #7 was applied to some 3,000 sq metres of the suspended concrete decks which includes two levels of internal courtyard to provide a complete water proofing system. The first level is the sunken courtyard section suspended over the basement carpark. This section has been completely filled and features a water fountain. The upper level of the internal courtyard has been both landscaped and tiled. This podium level forms the rooftop to the restaurants and commercial offices located underneath. All landscaped areas and fountains were waterproofed with Radcon Formula #7, confirming its undoubted green credentials as it is non toxic and not harmful to plant or marine life. The completed site is one of the tourist hot-spots in this amazing city, hosting a gallery of international boutiques, fine dining restaurants and wine bars. Figure 2: Water features

5 Suarga sustainable resort, Bali, choose the greenest of waterproofing products - Radcon Formula #7 COUNTRY: TREATED AREA: AREA: Bali, Indonesia Suarga Boutique Resort Rooftops, swimming pools & tanks 3,000 square metres Figure 1: Resort under construction Suarga was designed as a sustainable, eco-friendly resort therefore it was critical that any waterproofing chosen conformed with these guidelines. Radcon Formula #7 already had green label approvals from Singapore and Ecospecifier certification from Australia so its eco-friendly credentials made it the obvious choice. Radcon #7 was applied to the rooftops and concrete walls as well as all seven swimming pools and waste water tanks. Radcon #7 is non-toxic, emits no VOC s and is safe for use on drinking water tanks. Unlike other membranes, Radcon #7 will never have to be jackhammered up due to non-performance or being punctured and turned into landfill! It continues to be active in the matrix for the life of the concrete. Suarga Resort is the world s biggest wood recycling project under FSC certification (pending approval) and will be 100% off grid, running fully on solar power. 6 Potable water tank for Manila waterproofed with Radcon Formula #7 COUNTRY: Philippines Manila Water APPLICATOR: MB Technosolutions CONTRACTOR: Makati Development Corp CLIENT: Manila Water YEAR: 2008 SIZE: 2,050 square metres Figure 1: Cosmetic touches added to tank This water tank now stores drinking water for the city of Manila This water storage tank holds 10 million litres of drinking water. Radcon was specified to waterproof this impressive structure from the very beginning of the project. No other product could offer this level of waterproofing that was: Easy to apply Non Toxic Cost effective Radcon is certificated for potable water in numerous countries. 7 Radcon Formula #7 for Veolia Desalination Plant in Oman COUNTRY: CLIENT: CONSULTANT: APPLICATOR: SIZE: Oman Sharqiyah Desalination Plant Veolia Mott MacDonald, Oman Bahwan Building Materials 60,000 square metres Figure 1: Figure 1: Desalination Water Plant The OPW3 Sharqiyah Independent Water Project is a $173 million desalination facility, the first of its kind in Oman. The plant is located near the town of Sur and is able to supply over 80,000 m3 of water per day to the town s 350,000 inhabitants. The water holding areas which had to be waterproofed spanned some 60,000 square metres. However, the internal walls of the holding areas sustained problems during the pour. These needed to be rectified prior to the application of Radcon Formula #7 and ensure there was no honeycombing in the concrete which would cause areas of weakness. The consultants from Mott MacDonald in Oman were understandably concerned with potability characteristics of the bidding waterproofing products. Radcon Formula # 7 was the ultimate choice due to its non-toxicity, approvals for the product from Singapore, Australia, Brazil, Spain and Portugal and its 100% watertight capability for water tanks.

8 RADCON CHOSEN FOR ITS ECO FRIENDLY PROPERTIES COUNTRY: Singapore Fish Ponds & Water Gardens ARCHITECT: WOHA Architects APPLICATOR: PQ Farben Pte Ltd YEAR: 2012 Figure 1: Fish Pond These ornamental water gardens and fish ponds were incorporated into the design of these modern bungalows by WOHA Architects in Singapore. WOHA are very well respected architects and have designed numerous major projects in Asia. The challenge in this case was to find a product that not only waterproofs the concrete but is non-toxic and will not harm the fish or the plants in the pond and garden. After some research Radcon Formula # 7 was the only choice. Radcon Formula # 7 will give a 100% watertight result for the life of the concrete while giving the fish and plants a safe environment to live. Radcon Formula # 7 has previously been tested and approved by SETSCO in Singapore for its non-toxic properties and its suitability with potable water. Singapore is one of the most environmentally friendly nations in the world and the fact that it has issued Radcon Formula # 7 with the prestigious Green Label is a badge of honour for the product. 9 Casa no Gere, Portugal COUNTRY: Portugal Casa no Gere ARCHITECT: Gracia Correia and Roberto Ragazzia APPLICATOR: Coala YEAR: 2006 Figure 1: Gere house in situ For people who take eco-tourism seriously, this house is an inspiring example. At the request of the houseowners of not cutting down a single tree and constructing it entirely in concrete, Casa no Gere is a courageous feat. The Casa no Gere is a stunning 60 sq mtr home designed by Porto based architect, Gracia Correia and her Italian partner, Roberto Ragazzia. It is located in the heart of Portugal s Gere National Park by the Cevado River. The architects did not want to use products that emit VOC s or membranes that would have to be removed in a few years and create problems with landfill. Radcon Formula #7 has been applied to all the concrete to ensure that it remains waterproof for life; there were no other products that could offer this level of protection whilst being as environmentally friendly as this home. This is the perfect opportunity for Radcon Formula # 7 to show off its capabilities. Figure 2: insert title

10 Stamford Grand Hotel, Sydney COUNTRY: Australia Stamford Grand Hotel ARCHITECT: Dainfords Pty Ltd APPLICATOR: Katrim Pty Ltd YEAR: 1989 Figure 1: There are many species of plants and fish that thrive in this lake The Stamford Grand in Sydney has always been a source of pride for Radcrete. Not only does it demonstrate how well Radcon Formula # 7 waterproofs but that it is there for a VERY long time. This project was completed in 1989 and was then filled with various water plants and many fish. Fish are the most sensitive creatures on the planet to any form of toxicity so it was critical that the waterproofing was ecologically friendly. This entire pond is built on top of a car park so it is possible to walk under the lake and inspect the underside of the concrete. Twenty three years on and it is still perfect. Radcrete was recently in contact with the original engineer/architect for the project who made the following comments: Dear Michael, It is my pleasure to confirm our recent discussions regarding my intention to specify RADCON Formula # 7 Waterproofing System for the use in the current construction of a large Water Treatment Plant at Plantation Island Resort in Fiji. As I briefly explained, my reason for the selection of RADCON FORMULA #7 was based on my experience as the architect for the "Stamford Grand North Ryde" Resort Hotel in Sydney which was built 26 years ago To this day, I am unaware nor have I been informed of any repair or replacement of the selected water proofing system during the past years. Based on such outstanding performance I have come to the conclusion that the use of RADCON FORMULA #7 will be the appropriate water proofing system for the project at hand in Fiji, in particular, taking into account restrictive conditions at the island location. 11 Ritz Towers, Philippines COUNTRY: ARCHITECT: Philippines Ritz Towers Arch Jerome Abad of PGAA Creative Design MB Technosolutions APPLICATOR: LANDSCAPING: Bulacan Gardens YEAR: 2008 Figure 1: Entrance to Ritz Towers With 27 levels of residential apartments, this condominium is known to provide residence to some of Manila's top businessmen, diplomats, and celebrities including the former first lady of the Philippines Imelda Marcos. The complex includes two levels of underground parking, heated swimming pool with water features, gymnasium, conference facilities and numerous other 5 star facilities. Radcon Formula # 7 was used to waterproof all the "green" areas such as planter boxes as well as some other parts of the building such as the helipad. The soil and plants can be put directly onto the Radcon Formula # 7 treated concrete without any need for a protective screed as Radcon Formula # 7 increases the concrete hardness to the same level as granite. 12 Marriott Courtyard Hotel Trinidad COUNTRY: Trinidad Marriott Courtyard Hotel APPLICATOR: Dover CONSTRUCTOR: Beaver Construction YEAR: 2008 Marriott have hotels in 67 countries around the world with more than 3,000 in America alone. When they decided to build a new Marriott Courtyard in Trinidad's capital, Port of Spain, Radcrete's representative naturally recommended Radcon Formula # 7 for use on the exposed concrete roofs. One of the advantages to the client is that Radcon Formula # 7 lasts indefinitely and thus there is no on-going maintenance cost to them, meaning they will not have to have empty hotel rooms whilst waterproofing is re-done in 5 or 10 years time. Just as important are Radcon Formula # 7's "green" credentials. Marriott have a commitment to greener hotels and to expanding their $10 billion per annum supply chain by teaming up with greener companies. They specifically choose products that conserve energy, reduce waste and are composed of environmentally friendly materials. Therefore Radcon Formula # 7 was a natural choice as unlike most waterproofing materials it is not derived from oil based products, it has an indefinite lifespan and reduces landfill because it never needs replacing.

Radcon Formula # 7 has a long history of being applied to bridge decks around the world. In Singapore, all the bridges have planter boxes to enhance the green image of the city. As Radcon contains no harmful VOC s and is non-toxic it was the product chosen to be applied to the planter boxes of the NUS (National University of Singapore) bridge, which links two campuses of the University on opposite sides of a freeway. YEAR: 2008 Figure 1: Swimming Pool at One Leicester One Leicester is an 18 storey, ultra modern complex of exclusive apartments recently opened in Singapore. It offers its residents 194 stylish urban design units surrounded by an elegant glass facade and stunning views of the surrounding area. Radcon Formula # 7 has been applied to the podium deck, protecting the entrance drop off section and the adjoining water feature. Radcrete s Singaporean applicators had all the aces in their hands when meeting with the One Leicester specifiers. Radcon Formula # 7 had been widely used on condominium complexes through Asia including Singapore. It is also specifically designed for long term protection of exposed trafficable areas by re-sealing any future hairline cracks. Potability and unlimited hydrostatic pressure characteristics proved to be beneficial for protection of the water feature. Some other features at One Leicester include tennis courts, landscaped rooftop garden, outdoor pool, tai chi corner, multiple gardens and fitness centres. Figure 2: One Leicester Apartments

Gabinete de Organização e Projectos YEAR: 2009 Figure 1: The Museum Radcon Waterproofs Architectural Masterpiece in Coa Valley Portugal Radcrete Pacific s distributor in Portugal was called on to waterproof the country's newest cultural landmark. No other product could achieve complete waterproofing without compromising the artistic quality of this amazing structure. To build the Museum of Art and Archeology in the stunning Coa Valley, many factors had to be considered including topography, accessibility and the environment. The result is a museum installation within the landscape. The backdrop is the vast landscape of hills and valleys, providing the building with a sense of relationship to the topography. At the highest point of land, this triangular body is wedged between two valleys (Valle de José Esteves and Vale do Forno), with the front facing the confluence of the rivers Douro and Coa.
