Kevigs Ski trip 2016 Serre Chevalier, France This was by far the best school trip we have ever been on because of the whole experience. We did many extra activities such as ice skating, bowling and swimming. This gave us a chance to bond with the rest of group. The local cuisine was brilliant and we got a taste of local culture. Every day generated lots of funny memories that we won t Y3/4 ever Boys' forget. race has The just skiing started. itself was amazing as our trip was blessed with fantastic snow conditions. We learned lots from the instructors and also had a lot of fun on the slopes. We all improved massively. The teachers were really chilled and this was good because they joined in with the banter we all had. The journey felt a lot shorter than the 23 hours that it actually was, because Sam provided the beats pill (music). We all got on well and this made the whole trip cool and relaxed. The actual resort was also a such a fun place. They had pizza places, supermarkets, souvenir shops and leisure activities. There is so much more to say but we don t have time. We would definitely recommend this trip to other students and would jump at the chance to go again! By Sam, Ben and Luke (y11)
FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT Pictured are Team Kevigs, Robyn left mid, Albany right mid, Maisie up front, Emily defence and Becky goalie. The results from the recent girls football tournament held at the prior to half term are as follows: Match Y3/4 Boys' 1 King race Edwards has just started. vs De Aston A De Aston scored 1-0, then Maisie scored resulting in a 1-1 full time score. Match 2 King Edwards vs Somercotes Maisie scored assisted by Robyn resulting in a score of 1-0 at full time. Match 3 King Edwards vs De Aston B Robyn assisted by Maisie scored 1-0 Albany scored 2-0 Robyn scored another goal which resulted in a full time score of 3-0 We won two matches and drew one, so did De Aston A. Due to the goal difference they won so we very narrowly missed out on qualifying for the County Championships. As all girls played so well Mrs O Neill awarded them all Player of the Tournament.
PRIMARY CROSS COUNTRY COMPETITION Almost 400 primary school children from 10 schools took part in the annual Key Stage 2 Cross Country competition on the top field at KEVIGS on Tuesday 9th February. The Year 9 girls were actively involves as Sports Leaders for the event and were a credit to the school. Well done girls! Well done to all the competitors from the primary schools. Y3/4 Boys' race has just started.
THE LUDENSIAN PRIMARY VISITS Year 7 students visited North Cockerington Primary on Thursday 11th February. The children commented on how smart the Y7s looked! Pictured are Todd, Spencer, Owen and Charlotte. Jasmine, Henry and Maisie visited the Year 4,5 and 6 children from Middle Rasen Primary on February 25th. They spoke confidently on a range of topics from homework to clubs to making new friends in Year 7.
THE LUDENSIAN Year 7 students visited the Year 6 children at East Ravendale primary school on Thursday 4th February. They were able to offer good advice on homework, making friends and making good choices in the canteen. Well done Paige, Charlie and Daisy on being such good representatives for the. AUTHOR VISITS SCHOOL On Thursday 21st January, we were privileged to welcome Abigail Tartellin - author of two bestselling novels - to the school. She ran two creative writing workshops during the day, working with a selection of Year 10 and Year 12 students. Students commented on how inspiring it was to speak with Abigail, and also how interesting the task of creating a "zine" (small independent magazine) had been. Calanthe Hendrikse (Year 10) said: "I think it was really fun, and I learnt about publishing and writing." Rebecca Cooper (Year 10) added: "I really enjoyed it and she connected [with the students] really well."

This will be designed to give your son/daughter some extra help with both their revision techniques as well as the content needed for the RE exam. Letters for this will be available next week with a reply slip to be handed in by Friday 18 th March. SLG SIMS LEARNING GATEWAY Over the past few weeks several parents have contacted the, by phone or , to say they are having problems logging on to the SLG. Here are a few simple things to remember: 1. The majority of problems occur because the password has expired. You MUST log-on to the SLG within every 28 days or your password will lapse. This is something we have no control over. It would be helpful if you also encouraged your child to logon at the same time. 2. Please set a security question and answer in My Account Page then you will be ed a new password in the event you forget again. 3. When you reset your password you cannot use any words or numbers that can also be found on your child s electronic records on SIMs eg. Numbers from their date of birth/ house number/ telephone number; name (child or parent names); any part of your address; any part of your address. 4. When you try to reset your password if you are sent around in a loop, back to square one it is likely to be because you have: a. entered a password you have previously used b. entered a password which contains unacceptable information from Pt 3. above. The system gives you no warning message about this, so it would appear to you that the system is not working. 5. Your password must always: a. start with a capital letter b. contain a number 6. Your User Name will always be KEVIG. and then your first initial and surname. Some parents will have a number after their surname if we have another user with the same initial and surname. All parents have previously been issued with their user name and password. If you have any problems please SLG.Help@kevigs.lincs.sch.uk
