1 Title of Activity: Celebration of Engineers Day 2015 Date: Venue: Training & Placement Hall of M.J.P.R. University, Bareilly Lighting the Lamp View of Delegates The 48 th Engineers Day 2015 was celebrated by Bareilly local centre with great enthusiasm, by all Engineers attached to this centre. Following activities were carried out. Technical Seminar A Technical seminar on the theme Engineering Challenges For Knowledge Era was organised at Training & Placement Hall of M.J.P.R. University, Bareilly. The seminar was conducted by Er. Mrs. Chhavi Sharma Assistant Professor Department of ECE, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, M.J.P.Rohilkhand University, Bareilly (UP). Er. P. K. Garg, SE, PWD, Bareilly was the Chief Guest for this Seminar. Guest of honour Dr. A. K. Gupta, Dean Engineering, M.J.P.R. University. The seminar was inaugurated by garlanding the portrait of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesraya and lightening of lamp by Chief Guest, Chairman, Honorary Secretary and others VIP s. The seminar started with the welcome address by Shri S. C. Sundrani, Chairman IE (I), Bareilly local Centre, Shri K. B. Agarwal, I.P. Chairman, IE (I), Bareilly Local Centre paid tribute to Sir Mokshagundam Visvesraya by presenting his life sketch. Er. N. C. Atri, IE(I), Bareilly Local Centre welcomed Engineers and read out Theme Engineering Challenges For Knowledge Era, received from Head Office, Kolkata. Following speakers presented their papers on the Seminar s theme, alongwith practical examples, which were applauded whole heartedly by the audience: Er. K. B. Agarwal s Presentation on the topic Engineering Challenges For Knowledge Era Tremendous developments are taking place in science, technology and engineering world over and the knowledge has become the new currency of national economics. Engineers have a pre-eminent role in the knowledge economy. Promoting research and development, nurturing entrepreneurship and succeeding in making world class products all will form major activities in this regard. Following speakers presented their papers, highlighting the various important aspects of Engineering Challenges for Knowledge Era -

The practical TIPS to Engineering Challenges were applauded whole heartedly by all the participants. All the speakers were honoured by presenting the Mementos by Chief Guest, Er. P. K. 3 Title of Activity: CELEBRATION OF WORLD HABITAT DAY 2015 Date: Venue: IE (I), S OFFICE World Habitat Day on the theme Public Spaces for All was organized at office of IE (I), Bareilly Local Centre, 638, Beharipur Civil Lines, Opp. City Railway Station, Bareilly It was started with the Welcome Address byer. S. C. Sundrani, Chairman IE (I), Bareilly Local Centre. Shri N. C. Atri introduced the Theme as received from Head Quarter. Speaking on the subject the Chairman, Shri S. C. Sundrani, suggested that suggestions secured from speaker will be sent to concerned departments for betterment of cities, local areas. Following speakers presented their papers on the World Habitat Day 2015 s theme, alongwith practical examples, which were applauded whole heartedly by the audience: 1. Shri K. B. Agarwal describes on the topic Public Spaces for All : Good public spaces enhance community cohesion and promote health, happiness, and well-being for all citizens as well as fostering investment, economic development and environmental sustainability. As city leaders, we need to champion the development of public space policies at city, regional, national and global levels 2. Er. A. K. Jindal participating in the discussion on the Public Spaces for All that In 1950, one-third of the world s population lived in cities. Just 50 years later, this proportion has risen to one-half and is expected to continue to grow to two-thirds, or six billion people, by Streets, squares, and parks, especially in the informal city, are often chaotic, poorly planned and maintained if they exist at all. In this context, there are multiple challenges presented by the public spaces themselves. 3. Er. K. C. Agarwal, Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Shri Saheb Singh Verma, and Shri Narendra Nath Agawal also shared their views and experiences on the theme. Er. 4 Title of Activity: Celebration of World Standards Day 2015 Date: 14 October 2015 Venue: IE (I), S OFFICE World Standards Day on the theme The World s Common Language was organised at the Committee Hall of IE (I), Bareilly Local Centre, 638, Beharipur Civil Lines, Opp. City Railway Station, Bareilly. The proceedings of World Standards Day 2015 was conducted by Er. A. K. Jain, Honorary Secretary, IE (I), Bareilly Local Centre, Bareilly. It was started with the welcome address by Er. S. C. Sundrani, FIE, Chairman IE (I), Bareilly Local Centre, Er. N. C. Atri introduced the Theme as received from Head Quarter. Speaking on the subject the Chairman, Er. S. C. Sundrani, FIE, gave various tips and told that World will become one with standardization of various needs of daily life. Manufacturing becomes easy and economical with adoption of common standards worldwide. Following speakers presented their papers on the World Standards Day 2015 s theme, alongwith practical examples, which were applauded whole heartedly by the audience: 1. Er. K. B. Agarwal, FIE, presentated paper on topic World Standards Day He explained that Since 1970, World Standards Day has been celebrated in various ways throughout the world. Conferences, exhibitions, seminars, TV and radio interviews, and even World Standards Week" events take place annually on 14 th October. The goal of World Standards Day is to raise awareness of the importance of global standardization to the world economy and to promote its role in helping meet the needs of business, industry, government, and consumers worldwide. World Standards Day also pays tribute to thousands of volunteers around the world who participate in standardization activities. 2. Er. Prem Prakash Gupta, FIE, participating in the discussion on the The World s Common Language said that Indian languages are important because of India's position as the second most populous country in the world and a growing economic power. Indian languages are widely spoken in large minority communities in the UK. Department for education statistics show Panjabi, Urdu and Bengali as the top three languages spoken by English schoolchildren with English as an additional language. Together these account for more than a third of a million children Er. University, Bareilly During the term , the first Statutory Day National Energy Conservation Day Scheduled on 14 th December 2015 was celebrated as Lecture Series on this topic of great National and International important. The Lecture Series was organized on 14 th December, 2015 at Training & Placement Hall of M.J.P.R. University, Bareilly. A galaxy of speaker was present to express their views, as listed below: 1. Gupta, Dean MJPR University, Bareilly has very kindly concreted to present concluding words at the end the Lecture series. The programme started with the inaugural words by the Chairman of IE (I), Bareilly Local Centre Er. Prem Prakash Gupta. It was followed by presentation by different speakers. Prof. S.S. Bedi, MJPR University, Bareilly presented a wide spectrum of suggestion for Energy Conservation and linked with the need of associating with the nature, some of the speakers mention that the concept of Conservation of Energy was observed great important in ancient India. Some interesting example were also quoted one of the speakers emphasize on the Enervation of depleting source of Energy Generation and put before the house an important untapped source. Speaker Er. K. C. Agarwal expressed views about insulation of new buildings during construction (floor, wall, slaps, water pipe etc.) to save the energy. All the imminent speakers were awarded by Bareilly Local Centre. After the informative concluding words by Prof. A. K. Gupta, Dean, MJPR University, Honorary Secretary of IE (I), Bareilly Local Centre Er. A.K. Agarwal, thanked all the speakers, for participation and organizer.
6 Title of Activity: CELEBRATION OF WORLD WATER DAY Date: 22 nd March, 2016 Venue: Prem Prakash Gupta Institute of Engineering, Bareilly During the term , the second Statutory Day World Water Day Scheduled on 22 nd March 2016 was celebrated as Seminar on the topic of Water & JOBS. The Seminar was inaugurated by the Keynote speaker, Chairman, Honorary Secretary, and other VIP s by lightening the lamp and garlanding the Goddess Saraswati. The Seminar on this Statutory Day started with the inaugural words by the Chairman of IE (I), Bareilly Local Centre Er. Prem Prakash Gupta, FIE, who introduced the theme of the day as received from Head Quarter and presented several ideas to create jobs related to organizations working on water and allied fields. A galaxy of speakers was present to express their views during the Seminar organized on 22 nd March, 2016 at Prem Prakash Gupta Institute of Engineering, Bareilly, as listed below: Er. A. K. Under the theme Water and Jobs, the year 2016 provides an important opportunity to consolidate and build upon the previous World Water Days to highlight the two-way relationship between water and the decent work agenda in the quest for sustainable development. 7 Title of Activity: Celebration of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day 2016 Date: 17 th May, 2016 Venue: Prem Prakash Gupta Institute of Engineering, Bareilly During the term , the third Statutory Day World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD 2016) Scheduled on 17 th May 2016 was celebrated as Seminar on the topic of ICT Entrepreneurship for Social Impact. The Seminar was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Chairman, Honorary Secretary, and other VIP s. The Seminar on this Statutory Day started with the inaugural words by Er. N. N.
