3 3 ACADEMIC POSITION AT THE FACULTY OF THEOLOGY AND RELIGIOUS STUDIES SYSTEMATIC THEOLOGY: RELIGION AND CHRISTIAN FAITH IN A GLOBALISED WORLD NATURE OF THE POSITION The successful cadidate will be expected to develop a program of research i the field of religio ad Christia faith i a globalized world, to produce scietific work that meets iteratioal stadards of scietific excellece, ad to support ad promote atioal ad iteratioal cooperatio with respect to the place ad sigificace of religio ad the Christia faith traditio i a world characterized by a icreasig process of globalizatio ad iter religious ad itercultural exchage. More specifically, the cadidate must coduct research ito Christiaity as a religious ad cultural pheomeo, ad the doctrial traditio of Christiaity with respect to the sigificace ad future of the Christia religio (i.e., the theology of salvatio history ad eschatology), from the perspective of systematic theology ad the sciece of religio. Educatioal Duties The resposibilities of the cadidate iclude the provisio of, ad ogoig attetio to, educatio, i both Eglish ad Dutch, i the field of the study of religio ad systematic theology. These educatioal duties may iclude the teachig of the course Religie, zigevig e levesbeschouwig (Religio, the quest for meaig, ad worldviews) i other Faculties of the uiversity. The cadidate will also be expected to supervise Masters studets durig the preparatio of their Masters theses, ad doctoral studets durig their doctoral research ad the compositio of their doctoral dissertatios i those research domais specified i this job descriptio. The quality, orietatio ad academic cotet of the educatioal activities udertake by the applicat must meet the stadards of academic educatio.
