1 February 1 st, 2007 Dear Madam, Dear Sir, It is my pleasure to invite the national team of your tennis federation to participate in the Young Stars Tournaments The Young Stars Tournaments are 5 top level events for both girls and boys, all part of the Tennis Europe Junior Tour "14 & Under" 2007 (born 1993 and later). Enclosed you will find information on the Young Stars Tour 2007, including the fact sheets of the 5 tournaments: BNP Paribas Cup Stade Français Paris (France category 1) Windmill Cup Carl Gantois (The Netherlands category 1) Le 13/14 des Hauts-de-Seine (France category 2) 30. Rheinenergie Tennis Cup (Germany category 1) Lapperre Young Champions Cup Hasselt (Belgium category 1) These 5 tournaments are set up as a cooperation, with professional organisation and world class level of play. About twenty qualification tournaments are organised by ITF through the respective regional bodies in Africa, Asia, China, Eastern Europe and South America. This guarantees participation of the best junior players from the five continents. Because of this high standard, only players of an international high level are directly accepted into the Main Draw. Individual information on each player must be given to the organizers in order to give them the opportunity to determine the direct allowance on the Main Draw. Not all the tournaments do organize qualifications for all those not meeting the cut level. Boarding and lodging for teams are provided under the rules of the Tennis Europe Junior Tour. Travel arrangements are made available from one tournament to the next at minimal cost. 3 WHY YOU SHOULD PARTICIPATE? The Young Stars Tournaments: 5 consecutive top class tournaments: four of Category 1 and one of Category 2 - during the Individual European Championships. Professional tournaments with team boarding and lodging under the rules of the Tennis Europe Junior Tour, including convenient travelling from a tournament to the next at minimal cost. World class level of players from all continents: - ITF International Tennis Federation organizing qualification tournaments to select the best players: ATF - Asian Tennis Association COSAT - Confederacion Sudamericana de Tenis CAT - Confederation of African Tennis Tennis Europe, - Chinese Tennis Association - Also Tennis Australia, Japan Tennis Association, Tennis Canada and Federacion Mexicana de Tenis typically delegate their strongest possible team. 4 The Young Stars Tournaments are 5 consecutive tournaments for the "14 & Under", each tournament being part of the Tennis Europe Junior Tour. The tournaments take place during the months July and August Int. Objectives Simplify logistics for national and international youth tennis federations to compete in world class junior tournaments in the "14 & Under"- category. Assemble the youngsters of this planet through one of their passions: Tennis! Bring a pageant to a whole region. 2. Competition for Girls and Boys International Qualifications. Main Draw singles. Main Draw doubles. Consolation singles. Training facilities. 3. Composition of the National Teams Players born in 1993 or Players born in 1995 or after are exceptionally accepted in case of extraordinary results. Players delegated by their National Association or Federation should be of the best international level. Basic team composition: 1 official coach, 2 girls and 2 boys. Other team compositions may exceptionally be accepted. 4. Courts Outside clay courts. In the event of bad weather conditions play can be moved to indoor facilities. 5. Boarding and Lodging Qualifications No hospitality will be offered during qualifications, boarding and lodging to be paid by the participants. All participants have to take care of their own hotel reservations Main Draws Starting from midday of the day before the beginning of the main draws, full hospitality (meals and accommodation) is provided for: o o all players until elimination from the main draws. all players (2 boys + 2 girls) and 1 official coach of teams of an official association until the last team member is eliminated from the main draws. Exceptions: The coach of a one-member-team has to pay a contribution per day. Accompanying persons: contribution per day to be paid locally before the start of the tournament or they have to take care for board and lodging themselves. At the hotel or other accommodation, 2 official coaches or 2 accompanying persons will be grouped together in a double room. If single rooms are requested an extra fee is applicable. 5 6. Extra Hospitality. For teams arriving before the beginning of the Main Draws or staying after the elimination of the last team member, extra hospitality can be organised but only in the official tournament hotel for a contribution per person to be paid to the local tournament organisation. 7. Travelling 7.1. Travelling for Qualifications Young Stars Association will not arrange any transport in function of the qualifications from one tournament to the next. Look Travelling information Travelling Assistance for Main Draw Players Young Stars Association will arrange the transport in between tournaments in function of the Main Draws at minimal cost: 30,00 per person per travel (provided the fuel prices will remain on the level of August Free transport from the airport or the railway station (nearest to the tournament venue) and vice versa. Transportation from the native country to the airport or the railway station (nearest to the tournament venue) and vice versa is at the expense of the national federations of the team. Teams participating at the World Junior Finals in Prostejov (Czech Republic) will have the possibility to travel from Köln (GER) directly to Prostejov (Czech Republic) in a luxury Royal Class coach provided the national federation/association will subscribe and contribute for the facilities offered. Teams, participating in all five Young Stars tournaments and arriving in Paris for the first tournament "BNP Paribas Stade Français" (FRA), can fly back to their country from Paris after the fifth tournament "Lapperre Young Champions Cup" Hasselt (BEL) at their own expense. There is a direct connection, several times per day, from Brussels Midi to Airport Charles de Gaulle in Paris by Thalys (High Velocity Train - 1h30minutes). 8. Selection of competitors The Tennis Europe ranking will be used to determine if players will be accepted directly into the Main Draw. For non-european players, direct acceptance in the Main Draws is a decision of each tournament organisation. Wild cards (number limited according rules of Tennis Europe) can be allocated at the discretion of each tournament organisation to any player they judge of sufficient quality which, as an example, means the winner of a European Category 1 or similar tournament. 9. 6 11. Insurance Players and coaches must have full medical insurance coverage and all other insurance cover judged necessary or useful. With their entry every player gives his/hers consent not to claim anything (loss, injury, material damage, etc.) against neither the organizer nor the tournament committee. This does not include the liability in case of severe negligence. Due to this, every player or the legal guardian, ensures with the entry to have a sufficient insurance. The local law will prevail. 12. Schengen Visum Teams of countries not belonging to the European Union and playing the Copa del Sol and/or the Europa Cup should request a "Schengen visum" at the embassy or at the consulate of either one of the countries belonging to the European Union. This will allow the teams to travel to France, The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. Teams participating in Prostejov need a visa for the Czech Republic. Visa to be collected before departure to Europe at embassy or consulate of the Czech Republic. 13. Passports Passports will be checked and photocopied before each tournament start. 14.
