2 STUDENT RECRUITMENT MARKETING MANAGER Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: 28,285-33,944 p.a. Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance is a forward thinking, contemporary and world-class Higher Education Institution with a vision to redefine the conservatoire for the 21 st century. At the leading edge of music and dance training, it provides specialist education of the highest quality, which reflects the increasingly collaborative world of artistic practice and supports the lifelong career development of students and professional performing artists. The main remit of the post is to promote Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance s suite of Higher Education programmes and to ensure the successful recruitment of students from the UK in order to add to an already diverse and talented student body across music and dance. You will also contribute to recruitment activity in EU and support work in overseas markets. The post holder will further develop mutually beneficial relationships with schools and partners as well as develop new contacts for Trinity Laban. You will identify and leverage promotional opportunities across target markets, attending targeted educational events, and holding presentations with schools and recruitment fairs. You will be a main contributor to key publications such as the prospectus, and you will work closely with colleagues in Registry and Alumni Relations. To join our team you should be educated to degree level and have previously held a similar role either in an HEI or arts environment. You will be experienced in educational recruitment practices and the full suite of marketing and communications skills. Experience and knowledge of music and/or dance and/or working in an HE environment would be desirable and also the ability to represent the Conservatoire internally and externally. 3 JOB DESCRIPTION Post: Department: Responsible to: Staff Responsibility for: Student Recruitment Marketing Manager Marketing and Communications Head of Student Recruitment The Marketing Department is supported by a 0.5 FTE Graduate Intern for recruitment Salary Grade: 6 Contract: Full-time, Permanent OBJECTIVES To assist with the implementation of the Student Recruitment Plan across Music and Dance. To maximise high quality student intake for all programmes offered by Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. To expand and enhance student recruitment effectiveness (primarily in the UK and EU), by developing market intelligence, marketing collateral, direct recruitment, school liaison and institutional engagement. To research, implement, monitor and evaluate relevant strategies for student recruitment and conversion in assigned markets to ensure maximum return on investment from recruitment activities. WORKING ENVIRONMENT The post holder will be expected to work closely with the Head of Student Recruitment to build effective working relationships with Registry, the Faculties and other administrative departments across the Conservatoire so that activities delivered by these departments in relation to enquiries, open days, auditions, admissions, and student services are streamlined with and integrated into recruitment activity. In addition, the post holder will be expected to devise campaigns that integrate with the Alumni Relations Programme, and with the specialist knowledge and connections of faculty staff. The role requires a motivated individual with relevant experience in recruitment and marketing, preferably in a higher education (HE) context. 3

4 MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES MAIN DUTIES A. STRATEGIC PLAN A1. Contribute through effective student recruitment to the establishment of Trinity Laban s reputation as a world-class Conservatoire of first choice for talented students. A2. Carry out the necessary student recruitment activity (primarily in the UK and EU) in the Student Recruitment Plan, for both music and contemporary dance. B. RELATIONSHIPS B1. Seek out and coordinate relationships with institutions, agents and other organisations providing marketing support and effective training as required. B2. Work in collaboration with Student Services to provide ongoing student support as needed after students commence study at Trinity Laban. B3. Develop strong internal relationships with Registry, Student Services and Faculty staff to effectively carry out recruitment activity. C. MARKETING C1. Manage and implement effective campaigns to achieve the required levels of student enquiry, application, and acceptance rates across both faculties and all programmes. C2. Support the production and distribution of the prospectus and other recruitment materials, both print and digital. C3. Develop targeted promotional materials, web-based resources and social media campaigns to support recruitment activities, and ensure website content is accurate and up to date for prospective students from all markets. C4. Support the international recruitment function with the administration of visits, and the production and distribution of marketing materials as needed. C5. Coordinate recruitment marketing activities with Student Services and the Alumni Relations Programme. C6. Coordinate audition, recruitment and profile raising advertising for Music and Dance. C7. Coordinate and provide marketing support for open days, auditions, registration and induction as needed. C8. Attend and represent Trinity Laban at appropriate recruitment events in the UK and EU, and occasionally in other markets as required. C9. Contribute to the development of the CRM to ensure robust collation of recruitment data and high levels of customer satisfaction. 4

5 D. WIDENING PARTICIPATION D1. Contribute to the delivery of Trinity Laban s Widening Participation and Accessibility work, relating to student recruitment as defined in the Student Recruitment Plan and by attending relevant committee meetings as necessary. F. MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY F1. With the Head of Student Recruitment, manage staff and budgets as necessary. F2. Produce reports and presentations on recruitment activities as required. G. OTHER MATTERS G1. Undertake such other reasonable responsibilities and tasks which may, from time to time, be assigned by the Head of Student Recruitment. G2. Be prepared to work outside normal working hours, including evening/weekend work and extended travel. G3. The post holder must be able and prepared to undertake regular travel throughout the UK, as well as occasional travel within the EU and internationally. PERSONAL QUALITIES Interest in the creative performing arts, particularly music and contemporary dance SPECIAL WORKING REQUIREMENTS Be prepared to work outside normal working hours, including evening/weekend work and extended travel. 7 STUDENT RECRUITMENT MARKETING MANAGER CONDITIONS OF SERVICE SUMMARY AND STAFF BENEFITS Contract: Hours: Location: Salary Scale: Annual Leave: Pension Scheme: Sick Pay: Staff Development: Car Parking: Cafeterias: Events: Childcare: Classes: Eye Care: Permanent, full-time, subject to a six-month probationary period 35 hours per week, with occasional out of hours working for which time off in lieu will be given. You will be based at the Faculty of Music (King Charles Court, Old Royal Naval College), but may also be required to work at the Faculty of Dance (Laban building, Creekside). Trinity Laban Staff Salary Scale, Grade 6, Incremental Points 22-29, 28,285-33,944 p.a., inclusive of a London Weighting Allowance of 3,510 p.a. Salaries are paid on the last working day of each month direct into bank or building society accounts. 25 days p.a. in addition to Statutory, Bank and Public Holidays. The successful candidate will be auto-enrolled into the Universities Superannuation Scheme. Employees contribute at the rate of 6.5% of their pensionable salary. The Conservatoire pays the Employers contribution currently at the rate of 16.1% of pensionable salary. Trinity Laban operates the Statutory Sick Pay Scheme, and staff may be eligible for benefits in excess of this under Trinity Laban s own sick pay scheme. A range of Staff Development opportunities are available. A limited number of parking spaces are available at both sites, subject to availability. Our recently refurbished Cafeterias on both sites serve a range of hot and cold meals plus drinks and snacks. There are a wide range of music and dance performances each week, many of which are free to members of staff. Trinity Laban operates the Edenred childcare voucher scheme. Details are available on request from the HR Department. Reduced rates access to Adult Classes. Vouchers for eye tests are available for VDU users. Health: Reduced rates for Health services and access to the Cash 4 Health plan. Details are available from the Health Department. 7
