Cross-promoting - This happens when anyone on your mailing piece tries to sell something other than what was offered on the mailing piece you mailed. Our testing confirms that almost every time a new prospect received enthusiastic testimonials from people they speak with regarding our opportunity, they joined! However, if the new prospect was offered a different opportunity than what was on the mailing piece they received, that person would buy nothing and walk away. Our new mailing pieces and lead management system eliminates this from happening so when you mail your mailing piece or have me mail it for you, the odds of anyone trying to cross-promote are very low. Bottom line: Everyone wins by eradicating the ability for a few un-wise members to spoil the sale that others (you) have spent your money on to mail. 2. Poor performing mailing lists - Please take the time to read this part carefully. I have been in business for 10 years and last year was the first time where we saw list conversions fluctuate so dramatically. Here's what I mean. After the first quarter of 2013, mailing lists that had been historically reliable began to essentially fall apart. Their conversions went from consistently good to statistically zero in some cases. While other lists that had tested poorly began to do better but only for a quarter or two. (90-180) days. Then they would fall apart. When a traditional direct response guy goes online, his mailing list that he has his list broker sell attracts a different kind of customer/prospect than who was generally responding to his older direct mail campaigns. Online generated address lists are never as good and accurate as mailing lists generated from actual, physical mail. Additionally, there was a huge trend of marketers changing their offer. This also attracts a different kind of prospect and customer and leads to lists performing poorly as the once responsive list is now made up of folks who were attracted to a more online model. All of this led to unreliable lists and an even more acute hit-miss mailing results for our members. If you get a good response, of course, you're happy. If not, then you are most likely not going to mail again and will begin looking for a different opportunity. Naturally, your confidence is shattered and you cannot be enthusiastic about the opportunity and even when a prospect does call, you can't help but kill the sale! Even though this destroys any chance you have for success. The Good News About Lists Now! - They have settled down and again are trending towards more reliable numbers every quarter. As you may well know, our system tracks every list we use, every quarter so when my brokers approach me and ask what lists I want to purchase, I have good numbers on which to make my decision. Then my mailing house shuffles those lists together to give folks the best chance at an average response rate of at least 2%. This is our goal. 3.
