1 (Karl William Parrott, translation) Thermomechanics and fuid mechanics (Doctoral study program) Department of Power Machines and Equipment (KKE) Defnition of the feld: The study is focused on deepening knowledge and methods of theoretical and experimental research in thermodynamics, fuid mechanics and heat and mass transfer. It is oriented towards use in a wide range of technological equipment and optimization of technological processes, in the feld of classical and alternative energy, ecology and construction. Continuity: The study follows up on the felds: Thermal and nuclear machines and equipment, Machines and equipment for engineering production, engineering technology, materials engineering. Basics nonequilibrium thermodynamics Fluid Mechanics (10 credits) Statics and kinematics of fuids - potential fow and conformal transformations. Dynamics: molecular and molar viscosity, stress tensor in fuid, differential equations for laminar and turbulent fow, turbulence hypotheses, similarity in fuid mechanics, theorem on change of momentum, velocity limit layer, pressure and frictional resistance of bodies. Heat and mass transfer (10 cr.) Basic differential equations for solving velocity and temperature felds: equations continuity, kinetic, energetic and their modifcations, models of turbulent shear stresses and turbulent heat fuxes. Velocity and temperature boundary layer theory. Analytical and numerical methods for solving conduction and convection. Similarity in heat sharing and transfer matter. Basic properties of stationary fow compressible fuids. One-dimensional fow. Flow with energy transfer. Shock waves and related discontinuities. One-dimensional non-stationary fow. Laws of conservation of twophase systems, problems of fault propagation in two-phase systems. Condensation shock. One-dimensional fow of two-phase environments. Ideal gas (equipartition theorem, vibration and rotation of molecules, mixture of gases, chemical reactions, dissociation and ionization, collisions of molecules). Ideal fermion and boson gas (electron gas, black body radiation). Non - ideal gas (interaction of molecules, cluster approximation). Aeros fexibility (10 credits) Interactions of fuids and fowing elastic bodies. Aerodynamic forces, their analytical and experimental examination. Vibration responses and stability limits of various mechanisms: food oscillator, gallopink and futter, turbulent excitation (buffeting), aerodynamics and mechanics of coupled systems (compressor and turbine blades, tube bundles, etc.). On the issue of thermophysical properties fuids worked in the UK, Japan, Sweden and Germany. He is a working member groups Industrial calculations and working groups Thermophysical properties of water and water vapor IAPWS (International Association for Water and Steam Properties). He is a consultant in the EKIS network (Energy Consulting and Information Centers) of the Czech Energy Agency. He participated in a number of signifcant projects and implementation actions. He is the author and co-author of more than 100 publications. Nar. April 27, 1936, CSc. 1973, Prof Deputy Head of the Department of Energy machinery and equipment. He used to deal with convective heat sharing, after moving to Central of the Škoda Research Institute (1973 to 1992) by fow excited by vibrations of machine elements and systems composed of them. He is the author and co-author of 60 professional publications, the founder aerospace in Škoda a. s., co-founder and organizer of the international scientifc conference Engineering aero-hydro elasticity. Doc. RNDr. Jan Slavík, CSc., KFY FAV Nar. December 7, 1948, CSc. 1977, Doc Deputy Head of the Department of Physics. Theoretical physicist. He started in the feld of general theory of relativity
6 (postgraduate studies in Poland), then adapted to plasma physics. He is now working in the feld of creating socalled precipitation radiants plasma kinetics models. He collaborated with a major workplace in this area in Bari (Italy), where he spent 2 internships. Prof. Ing. Miroslav Stastny, DrSc. Nar , Drsc. 1990, Prof at CTU in Prague. Adviser. He worked for many years in ŠKODA Plzeň research, Turbíny plant. He participated in the development of combustion turbines and high power steam turbines for coal and nuclear power plants. Collaborates on solutions research problems with CTU and UWB and lectures at UWB. He has been cooperating with ČEZ for a long time. He is a member of: European Committee for the conference "Turbomachinery- Fliud Dynamics and Thermodynamics ", International Commission for Gas Turbines (IGTI), USA a working group IAPWS (International Association for Properties of Water and Steam).
