As your Financial Advisor, my role is to work with you to help you develop a plan that lays out a clear path to your goals a plan developed in collaboration with you, and one that you can follow with confidence in the face of the market s ups and downs. Together, we will explore a broad range of topics that are likely to influence your financial future from your family situation to your career aspirations, from likely education expenses to the retirement you ultimately envision. What we discuss will become the foundation for a financial and investment strategy based on who you are and where you want to go. Only then will we talk about the details of investing: how much risk makes sense, your asset allocation, and which investments are right for your portfolio. But that s just the beginning. Over time, we will revise your plan to reflect new aspirations and priorities, helping your plan keep pace as the markets change and your life unfolds. BRUCE R. BUTLER 3

5 My Background Bruce R. Butler, CFP Executive Financial Services Director Senior Vice President - Wealth Management As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER and fully licensed investment professional for more than 22 years, Bruce focuses on the small details that ultimately comprise the big picture of each client s financial life. His analytical skills and positive personality give Bruce the insight needed to formulate sound financial plans for his clients. Bruce believes that building strong long-term relationships is a key element of achieving a client s long-term financial goals. Through relationships comes a true understanding of the client s investment objectives and risk tolerance. Furthermore, clients must feel comfortable with the professionals they entrust. Just as a patient must have comfort with his or her physician with regard to physical well-being, there must be a comfort level between Financial Advisor and client since the client s financial well-being is at stake. Both are equally important and maintained through relationships. Bruce is a graduate of Northern Illinois University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Dallas where he was designated a member of the Sigma Iota Epsilon honors fraternity. Bruce continued honing his financial planning competency by pursuing the rigorous and highly respected designation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER. Bruce is an active member of his community; he currently serves as trustee on the board of a local Charitable Foundation focused on benefiting civic and other charitable causes with an emphasis toward helping children. He is a member of the National Financial Planning Association and the Financial Planning Association of Illinois. A husband and father of three children, Bruce can be found in his gym every morning at five am working to stay physically fit while catching up on world events. Besides spending quality time with his family, Bruce enjoys the time he spends playing drums with his band and performing at area summertime festivals and local establishments. BRUCE R. BUTLER 5

Working with you, I will complete a four-step process: 1 Setting your financial objectives I will begin our relationship by listening discussing a range of topics related to your financial needs and investment objectives: long-term life goals and expectations, possible major purchases, and legacy and charitable goals, if you have them. I will discuss your current financial resources, your time horizon for various goals, your tolerance for risk even how your liabilities are structured. If you own a business, I also MORGAN STANLEY might discuss your current banking and cash management needs. 2 Developing your wealth management strategy Based on your input, my advice will likely help address income and retirement planning, asset protection, investment management, strategic borrowing, wealth transfer and business succession. Of course, your plan will include an asset allocation strategy designed to help achieve your financial goals in light of your risk tolerance and investment time horizon. 3 Implementing your strategy After I have discussed and refined your strategy, I will work closely with you to bring the elements to life. Should we decide together that outside money managers are appropriate for you, I will draw on in-depth research and analysis to help you select from the hundreds of investment management firms available to you. If you prefer to invest in individual securities, I can help identify specific stocks, bonds and other securities that may be suitable for your portfolio. Whatever approach we decide on, I will help you keep your strategy on track. 4 Reviewing your performance You will receive a quarterly review that outlines your portfolio s performance, helping you track progress toward your objectives. Moreover,

7 when your personal situation or market conditions change significantly, I can suggest appropriate adjustments to your portfolio to help it remain aligned with your goals.
