1 Program Title: Management/Marketing Williamsville C.U.S.D. #15 Business Department Program Description: This course provides students with concepts and tools needed to better understand the role of the supervisor and manager in the workplace, varieties pervasive in the way companies are organized, the way supervisors must manage, and the nature of the workplace. With this dynamic environment in mind, students will be taught how to supervise in the modern world. A few areas included in the this section of the course are: 1) functions of a supervisor 2) characteristics of successful leaders 3) how communication works 4) decision making 5) motivating employees 6) selecting and training employees. The second half of the semester will move into the area of marketing. Students will learn about the various aspects of marketing by examining specific strategies used in entertainment, sports and business. A few of the areas included in this section are: 1) public images/public relations 2) marketing plans 3) marketing products and services 4) marketing individuals, teams and corporations.
