1 Chief Development Officer Las Vegas, Nevada Providing wholesome food to hungry people, while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community
2 The Organization Three Square is the fastest-growing food bank in the national Feeding America network. As the only food bank operating in the major counties of Southern Nevada, Three Square serves a state where 1 in 6 households struggle with hunger and an area with more than 315,000 food-insecure individuals and families. Three Square s programs have attracted widespread support from the entire Las Vegas community: it is regularly featured in media ranging from Healthcare Quarterly to local television; it is the charity partner of Las Vegas Restaurant Week and a recent recipient of a $10 million grant from the Southern Nevada-based Ralph and Betty Engelstad Foundation; and it has access to a 20,000-member volunteer network that grows by 20% each year. Food Bank and Food Rescue Three Square collects and circulates grocery and perishable items through a service network of 1,300 community partners as well as its Agency Store. Its network provides food to more than 137,000 people each month, including more than 19,000 seniors. In 2014, the organization distributed more than 28 million meals. Childhood Nutrition Three Square ensures that children who qualify for school lunches have food during critical periods when school is not in session. BackPacks for Kids delivers ready-to-eat meals for children who might otherwise go without during weekends. The Summer Food Service Program ensures meals are available during summer vacation to youth under 18. SNAP Assistance Three Square s SNAP Outreach Team assists households with applications for a range of benefit programs. In addition to SNAP, the Team helps people apply for the Energy Assistance Program, the National Lifeline phone program, foreclosure prevention programs, and more. 2
3 The Opportunity Three Square is seeking a Chief Development Officer who, as an integral member of the organization s leadership team, will take primary responsibility for generating and expanding the resources necessary to provide efficient and effective services to all levels of our community. The CDO will lead a team of development, marketing, and communications staff that has achieved great success in advancing Three Square s visibility and local support. As a senior leader, s/he will contribute to a critical mission that saves lives, improves children s health and educational outcomes, and builds local community. Widely Respected Leadership The Chief Development Officer will join the leadership team of an organization that is widely considered one of the top five non-profits in the state of Nevada. Three Square s Executive Director Brian Burton was named Best Philanthropic Leader by Vegas Seven Magazine in Strong Fundraising Program The CDO will build on a strong and healthy development program. Three Square secures nearly $50M in in-kind contributions each year. Its stature in the community has allowed it to make major strides on the transition from a foundation-fueled start-up to a comprehensive development program supported equally by individuals, corporations, and foundations. Talented Team Three Square s Chief Development Officer will have the opportunity to lead an integrated fundraising, marketing, and communications program staffed by a talented team of professionals. 3
