The goal of the course is to help participants gain the basic skills necessary to conduct an effective accident investigation at their workplace. The target audience is the small employer, manager, employee or employee representative who, as part of a firm's safety and health system, would be involved in conducting accident and/or near- miss investigations. This hotel offers a complimentary shuttle from 7am 9pm within 5 mile radius and is approximately 3 miles from the College. Please ask for the PETE room rate. Airport: Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport Taxi rates are $ $2.77/mile and it is miles from the airport to Eden Prairie Campus. There are no hotel shuttles to or from the airport. Please Note: Speakers who wish to participate in the full conference will be expected to cover the cost of registration. We are unable to cover any travel expenses.

FMI: Since 1994, the Advanced Technology Environment and Energy Center (ATEEC) has been a national center of excellence in the National Science Foundation s program for Advanced Technology Education. The Center is located in Bettendorf, Iowa, and is a partnership of the Hazardous Materials Training and Research Institute, the National Partnership for Environmental Technology Education, and the University of Northern Iowa. Our most recent partner is the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. ATEEC's mission is the advancement of environmental technology education through curriculum development, professional development, and program improvement in the nation's community colleges and high schools. The Center s vision is to create a national network of community colleges, supported through public and private partnerships, that prepares and maintains an environmental technology workforce to address industry's needs and to promote the transfer of secondary students to higher education. ATEEC is operated under the auspices of Eastern Iowa Community College District (EICCD), Davenport, IA. FMI: The Community College Consortium for Health and Safety Training (CCCHST) is one of twenty model worker training programs and the only community college consortium recognized and funded by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). CCCHST has 134 organizational members located in 34 states and one U.S. territory who annually train a minimum 20,000 students to protect themselves and their communities from exposure to hazardous materials encountered during hazardous waste site cleanup, Brownfields redevelopment, transportation of hazardous materials, and response to spills and releases of hazardous materials. Founded as the National Environmental Training Association, Inc., in 1977 with support and assistance from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the National Environmental, Safety & Health Training Association is an international non- profit educational and professional society dedicated to promoting competency and excellence in worker training and education. Traditionally, our interests have concentrated on safety, health and environmental training mandated by laws or regulations. NESHTA members subscribe to the belief that competent training for workers is the most cost- effective tool for helping to assure worker safety, while also protecting our environment and achieving regulatory compliance. With hundreds

6 of members worldwide, NESHTA is the network for academic, government, industrial, utility and consulting trainers and training managers responsible for protecting public health, workers, and our physical environment. Through this network, trainers can find the answer to virtually any question or the resource they may need for their work. NESHTA is the founder of the Certified Environmental, Safety and Health Trainer (CET) program, which has been owned by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) since the beginning of NESHTA strongly recommends and supports voluntary professional certification and credentialing for training professionals in all fields.
