1 Multi-Specialty Plastic Surgery Symposium and Bernard G. Sarnat, MD Lectureship November 6-8, 2015 Cutting-edge symposium for plastic surgeons, facial plastic surgeons, oculoplastic surgeons and dermatologists involved in the care of patients with aesthetic and reconstructive needs. Conference Location: Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, 8555 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, CA For the latest course information and to register, visit csmc.edu/cme and click on CME courses.
2 Activity Information Course Description and Statement of Need Plastic and reconstructive surgical and non-surgical procedures vary widely. Patient needs range from birth defects to facial rejuvenation, accidents to rhinoplasty, scar revision to body contouring and all require a unique skill set and experience. This demand for aesthetic procedures and reconstruction give rise to numerous new technologies and techniques; however, keeping pace with such advances can be challenging. Target Audience This educational activity is intended for plastic surgeons, facial plastic surgeons, oculoplastic surgeons and dermatologists involved in the care of patients with aesthetic and reconstructive needs. Educational Objectives Describe the anatomy of the face in terms of volume loss and structural changes in multiple tissue layers. Recognize the appropriate anatomical plane for injection when using injectable agents. Review the latest techniques in breast reconstruction, recognizing the importance of the anatomic planes in the injection of fat grafting, and its application in the breast reconstruction. Reduce complications and improve outcomes in patients requesting aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelid and/or midface region. Implement advanced techniques that have been found to be safer and less invasive in patients requesting aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the face.
