2 SkySweep VHF/UHF IP Data Radios SkySweep AVL Application The SkySweep IP radio system (SkyIPR) is a high speed (up to 915 kbit/s) IP over VHF/UHF radio solution. The products are based on the state-of-the-art new generation radio technology which provides TDD time division duplex transmission and OFDM modulation. The SkyIPR enables fluent use of IP based applications over VHF/UHF radio networks. The SkySweep IP radio high speed data solution revolutionises the way in which today`s mission critical networks can transmit data. What`s more, it answers the needs of both end users and network operators as well. With SkySweep IP radios professional users will be able to access services and features previously available only via commercial, non mission critical networks. With the emergence of mission critical data, new operational models can be developed and user organisations can achieve new levels of effectiveness. Network operators will appreciate the boost that SkyIPR solutions will bring to their network`s data capabilities. These solutions can take advantage of high data speeds, guaranteed data delivery times, high availability, utmost reliability and uncompromising security. Voice communication cannot be bettered, when a critical situation calls for split-second action, but most field work is not like that. Instead of a dispatcher having to issue all the instructions and information associated with a routine task verbally, SkyIPR uses IP over VHF/UHF data and messaging to assign tasks, provide access to databases, to all the information needed by field operatives and enable them to submit reports without having to return to the headquarters. This two way SkySweep IP radio system (SkyIPR) communication process can be tailored to fit each organisation`s operational needs and legal requirements. The SkyIPR VHF/UHF IP data radio is based on Windows embedded. The SkySweep IP Data Radio tracking solution consists of an USB GPS-receiver & the SkySweep tracking application. It provides a very cost efficient solution for VHF/UHF radio net GPS based AVL tracking. The solution is based on the SkySweep Tracking Server which contains the hardware and software. The clients send position information based on time or position changes. It is also possible to send status information (alarms, etc) and short text messages. The unit status and location are shown on the map. The SkySweep IP Data Radio (SkyIPR) tracking solution for AVL networks offers enormous capabillities. The system can track just one vehicle or up to hundreds of vehicles. The SkyIPR station can be used with the SkySweep tracking application or existing AVL IP applications and systems. The system fits for small tracking networks with less participants as also for networks, which consists of many stations. Track taxi cars, busses, agriculture vehicles, construction vehicles, a fleet of ships, etc. The example system below comprises s, IP s, SkySweep Tracking Server, and IP based infrastructure. The SkySweep Tracking Client is running on any pc system hardware (PDA, tablet, laptop) with Windows operating system(tm). 2

3 SkySweep Tracking Client The SkySweep Tracking Client is running on SkySweep IP Data Radio (SkyIPR) stations using USB GPS receivers. The client sends position and status messages to the SkySweep Tracking Server. The vehicle position is sent automatically based on time or position changes. SkySweep Tracking client, SkySweep tracking server application & USB GPS receiver are included in the device package. Also customer`s own tracking client or server solutions can be used. SkySweep Tracking Server The SkySweep Tracking Server provides a standardized and state-of-the-art web browser based user interface. It supports several map types, unit tracking, several types of alarms, etc. Below is a screen shot of the user interface showing unit positions and statuses. The customer can of course use also his own map types. 4 Tracking User Interface The server supports several map types, map zooming, user defined boundaries, vehicle status messages, alarms, speed, fuel level, etc details. Also tracking and geographical area based alarms are supported. An ideal system for dispatcher use. With Tracking Service, you are able to track your vehicles accurately live via GPS technology with use of your own maps or with your favorite Google maps to give you ease of tracking your vehicle. Tracking also gives a security feature such as use of Safety zone that will alert you when your vehicle leaves your pre assigned areas. A and a lot more features can easily be implemented.
