Is SBL mconnect different from mobile alerts? Yes indeed! SBL mconnect gives you much more than mobile alerts. For starters you can send and receive money, view mini statements and balance query, make Merchant Payments, iconnect and Card services, General Information of Banks, Utility payments, Recharge PIN Top Ups etc. it is a whole new way of banking. Mobile alert is a SMS service where SBL updates you on account activity. These SMSs are sent whenever an event occurs in your account. SBL has allowed customers to make financial transactions up to Rs. 10,000 with a maximum limit of Rs. 25,000 per day subject to maximum of 5 transactions per day.

3 Is there any additional change incurred while doing the account fund transfer from SBL mconnect? Yes, for every transaction Rs. 10 is levied. I have a CDMA phone, can I use mobile banking? SBL mconnect is enabled for GSM mobile phones i.e. NTC GSM & NCELL GSM. How does it work? SBL mconnect is available through GPRS and SMS. Can I start using SBL mconnect now! To avail SBL mconnect service you first need to apply for it. This can be done at the nearest SBL branch. Also, your mobile phone should be compatible with the mobile banking channel/s. How can I register for it? The service is offered to SBL customers. Kindly visit the nearest branch to register. You need to fill in the application form to enable the service. As soon as your user is created a temporary mconnect PIN will be sent on the registered mobile number. You can then download the application from link. and start using the services after 24 hours. Is there difference between the PIN that I provided in application form and the PIN that I receive through SMS? Yes indeed! The 5 Digit PIN that you provided in application form is used to login for GPRS Banking. Whereas the 4 digit PIN that you received through SMS is used for SMS Banking. Those two are different PIN for different purpose. Does the temporary 4 digit PIN received through SMS be used for using SBL mconnect SMS Banking? No, the 4 Digit PIN that you received from SMS is just a temporary PIN and gets expires as soon as you get it. You cannot use SBL mconnect using this PIN you need to change it using SBL mconnect application and then only you can use SBL mconnect SMS Banking by using your new changed PIN. Can I access SBL Mobile Banking when I am abroad? You cannot use SBL mconnect through SMS when you are traveling abroad, however you can user SBL mconnect Services using GPRS.

4 Will it be okay if I change my mobile phone number? If your mobile number has changed, immediately inform SBL. You will have to submit a fresh mobile banking request and it will be changed accordingly. What should I do if I get stuck? Upon creation of your mconnect User in our system a Temporary mconnect PIN (MPIN) will be sent to you through SMS. However, You cannot use SBL mconnect services using that PIN, once you receive the temporary PIN you need to change that PIN from our application. What if I forget my MPIN or User ID is locked? You can visit our nearest branch in such cases. After proper verification your ID will be unlocked or your PIN will be reset. You will receive the new MPIN through SMS instantly.

The General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a new non-voice value added service that allows mobiles to be used for sending and receiving data over an Internet Protocol (IP) based network. What if my phone disconnects by itself/ is switched off/ battery runs out while transacting? All banking transactions that you made before the phone battery discharged should have gone through. To check that the last transaction made has gone through, you will have to sign on to GPRS after the phone is recharged or switched on. Check the account balance and the record of the last transaction made. What if the mobile banking service is disrupted while I'm transacting via the phone?it is designed to cope with a large number of users and has a back-up system. However, in exceptional circumstances, it may be unavailable while you're using the system. Once it is up and running again, sign on and check your account balance and the record of the last transaction made.
