Date: Wednesday, March 26, 2014 Location: Brady s Landing What: March Member Dinner, Truck Contest & Vendor Showcase Come out to Brady s Landing on Wednesday, March 26 for the VERY first Gulf Coast PHCC Service Truck Contest & Member Dinner. We still have seats available for the dinner and a few spots available for Service Truck Contest Entries. There are no entry fee for the truck competition, they are included with your dinner price. There are many opportunities to gain your continuing education hours and other classes you need to be successful in the industry. Classes are held around the state. Looking for Scholarship Opportunities? PHCC Can Help! 2014 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS 1. Scholarships up to $2000 will be awarded each year. All applicants must be seniors in high school and graduate no later than July 15 in the year that the scholarship is awarded. Scholarship applications will be mailed out to all APHCC-Texas Contractor Members by January 25, in the year the scholarship is awarded. It is not necessary that the recipient attend a four-year college. Recipients may attend a two-year college or a building trades school. 2. All applicants must be a son/daughter of an APHCC-Texas Contractor Member or a son/daughter of an employee. 3. The membership dues of the APHCC-Texas Contractor Member Company must be current. 4. All scholarship applicants must be at least a senior in high school and require the graduation of the student from said high school. All applicants must be seniors in high school and graduate no later than July 15 in the year that the scholarship is awarded. No applicant will be excluded or favored because of gender, race, religion or national origin. 5. The institution attended by the recipient will be required to send notification to the committee if the student drops out of school before successful completion of the semester/course curriculum. 9 March 2014 A Special Good-bye In the past few weeks we have lost two important men in the PHCC-TX Family. Our Prayers and thoughts go out to the families. We have said good bye to El Paso Executive Director Robert Bobby Miles. PHCC-TX and GCPHCC have made donations in his honor to the American Heart Association. His obituary can be read at We also lost Bob Mills. Bob was a long time instructor for ABC and CEF programs. In addition to his many industry professional licenses he held a Master s degree in industrial education and training. Bob after his retirement from full time employment in our industry, had become a part time employee for CEF teaching courses for CEF for PHCC of Texas; City Square, and Dallas Independent School District. He was not only a great instructor but a great curriculum writer and facilitator. You Both Will Be Missed Greatly..

11 Gulf Coast PHCC PLUMBING OLYMPICS 2014! What are the Plumbing Olympics? GCPHCC is planning and hosting the 2014 Plumbing Olympics. This is a FAMILY FUN event. The Owners and Technicians from our member companies will compete in fun, plumbing themed contest events. What type of Events??? They will compete in events like the Plunger Javelin, Toilet Seat Horseshoes, Water Heater Relay and MANY other fun events!!! There will be prizes, GOLD MEDALS, catered lunch and fun with our peers! Mark Your calendars, pick your team, start your training!!! This event will be held on SATURDAY, MAY TD Industries. Time: TBD. Be on the look out for event details.
