SUMMER READING KICK OFF Teen Summer Reading Kick Off Party Unmasked! for grades 5-12 Tuesday, June 23 at 6:30 PM Taco buffet courtesy of Moe s, whoopie pies donated by Making Whoopie, henna tattoos with Peace Bee and Rainbow Song Henna, Wii, Karaoke, and Summer Reading signups! Summer Reading Kick Off Party Every Hero Has a Story for ages 0-12 Wednesday, June 24 at 3 PM Join us on the Library lawn to sign up for our summer reading program! Glitter tattoos, face painting, balloon animals, and sidewalk chalk to decorate our walkways! Images are copyrighted. Contact the CSLP at or info@cslpreads.org for more information. T-Shirt Cut Ups for grades 5-12 Monday, July 6 at 7 PM Are you sassy, boho, punk, or preppy? Transform a plain t-shirt into one that reflects your style. Bring your own t-shirt or use one of ours. Get Ready for Kindergarten for ages 3 5 at 10:30 AM Tuesdays, July 7, 14, 21, and 28 Get a head start before September with 45-minutes of stories, songs, and activities to help prepare your child for preschool or kindergarten. Please attend with your child. Playgroup to follow. Ed the Wizard Every Hero Has a Story Tuesday, July 7 at 1:00 PM Learn about Ed s hero, Dumbledore! Starting at 4 Privot Drive, experience the power of inspiration, as we visit classes from Divination through Potions. Terrific Toddlers for ages 18 months to 3 years old at 10:30 AM Wednesdays, July 8, 15, 22, and 29 Enjoy 30 minutes of interactive stories, rhymes, songs and activities! Playgroup to follow. Ecology of Sound -- Rainforest Music for ages 0+ Friday, July 10 at 10:30 AM Absorb the rhythms of the Brazilian rainforest in this engaging performance by Ricardo Frodo using instruments made from recycled and found objects.
3 JULY PROGRAMS CONTINUED 3 Little Pig Joins the Band: A Musical Author Visit Saturday, July 11 at 1:00 PM David Hyde Costello will share original songs, and home-made musical instruments. Visual Storytelling Workshop for grades 5-12 Saturday, July 11 at 3:00 PM Author and illustrator David Hyde Costello will share his expertise through group drawing games and activities. We will provide supplies, but feel free to bring your sketchbooks. Mike the Bubble Man Monday, July 13 at 1:00 PM Did you know that bubbles could be life-sized? Let Mike spark your imagination with music, comedy, and bubbles in all shapes and sizes! Subaru/Leave No Trace -- Camping and Hiking Safety Tuesday, July 14 at 1:00 PM Planning a family camping trip this summer? The Traveling Trainers will teach children, teens and adults how to interact with wildlife responsibly. Marvelous Marvin -- Math Blast Wednesday, July 15 at 1:00 PM Using rhyming text, circus arts and magic tricks, Marvelous Marvin will explore the basics of math from sorting to circles, and adding to triangles. Lego Club for ages 3 to 12 Thursday, July 16 at 1:00 PM Use your imagination and build anything you like with our tubs of Legos! Library Book Sale Saturday, July 18 from 9:00 AM 4:00 PM Stop by the library to pick up your beach and vacation reading! Great deals on titles for everyone. 4 JULY PROGRAMS CONTINUED 4 Outdoor Concert: Jesse Liam Band Tuesday, July 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Enjoy a free evening out for all ages! This father and son band will sing popular hits from the 50 s to today! Enjoy a little two steppin', classic folk music, crooning love songs, and lots of rock and roll. Bring a picnic dinner, blanket, and your dancing shoes! Indian Dance with Mouli Pal for ages 0+ Wednesday, July 22 at 1 PM Mouli Pal will help the audience discover India through dance with Odissi, an Indian Classical dance form. EPA - The Environment and Your Health for ages 5 and up Thursday, July 23 at 1 PM Are your children curious about air and water pollution? The EPA will teach them how air and water pollution affect our health, and recycling and ways to improve the environment. Sciencetellers - Super Heroes Friday, July 24 at 1:00 PM All the teachers at school are suspected to have superpowers! Throw on your lab coat and experience forces and reactions through hands-on experiments! Tree Identification on the Lawn Tuesday, July 28 at 1:00 PM The Worcester Tree Initiative loves trees! Join us for hands on activities exploring the beauty and benefits of trees. Pumpernickel Puppets Peter Rabbit Wednesday, July 29 at 1:00 PM John McDonough brings his cast of colorful puppets to present Peter Rabbit. Teen and Adult Beading Workshop Thursday, July 30 at 1 PM Make earnings, necklaces and bracelets using a wide selection of beads. Davey the Clown Friday, July 31 at 1:00 PM Everyone loves a clown! Davey will captivate you with juggling, magic, and unicycle tricks. The finale is a parade with accordion music played by Davey, and noise makers for the audience.

Animal World Experience Wild Heroes Wednesday, August 19 at 4:00 PM Just like many superheroes have animal powers, every animal has the power to be a superhero. Science Magic, Museum of Science Friday, August 21 at 1:00 PM Learn the science behind magic tricks, including how to lie down on a bed of nails. Whalemobile for grades K-6 Tuesday, August 25 at 1 PM Step inside Nile, the 43 foot long inflatable whale. Learn about the habitat, conservation and behavior of whales. Registration Required. Call the library to register. Teen End of Summer Party Tuesday, August 25 at 6:30 PM Enjoy pizza and subs, and draw for great prizes! End of Summer Party with Barn Babies Wednesday, August 26 from 1:00-2:30 PM Barn Babies Traveling Petting Zoo will be visiting the Franklin Library.
