2 MAURITIUS POST LTD (MPL), OFFICIAL OPENING OF GLEN PARK POST OFFICE 17 AUGUST, 2011 SUMMARY OF EVENT The Mauritius Post has proceeded to the official opening of the new Glen Park Post Office and Delivery Mail Centre. In line with its strategic plan , this Delivery Centre cum post office, will service the surrounding villages which will have access to an array of postal and non-postal services. The new post office was officially launched by Tassarajen Pillay Chedumbrum, Minister of Information and Communication Technology ; Sheilabai Bappoo, Minister of Social Security, National Solidarity and Senior Citizens Welfare & Reform Institutions; Marie Geneviève Stéphanie Anquetil, MP ; Arnaud Godère and Giandev Moteea, Chairman and CEO of The Mauritius Post Ltd respectively. MEDIA COVERAGE It is worth mentioning that all media were invited and 5 attended, namely: 1. Le Matinal 2. The Independent Daily 3. Radio One 4. MBC 5. Granbaie.mu The press release was also sent to all the media and the coverage reaped for this event is as follows: 1

15 MEDIA RELATIONS CAMPAIGN CONTENT It is worth noting that the press release allotted to the journalists has largely inspired them for their write up. This has resulted to a certain uniformity and consistency in news treatment. COVERAGE AND PHOTOS For the online platforms, orange.mu and grandbaie.mu have posted concrete information about the new post office. It is worth noting that orange.mu took up the whole press release. Orange.mu has included three photos of the event. A picture of the new post office was available on the home page while the article was accompanied of a coloured photo of Giandev Moteea addressing his speech to the audience. A picture of the visit of the Mail Delivery Centre was also added. On its side, grandbaie.mu has posted a picture of the unveiling of the plate and a video of Minster Tassarajen Pillay Chedumbrum during his speech. For the print media, Le Matinal and its English daily paper The Independent Daily, have both taken keen interest to relay news on the event. Black and white photos of the new post office and the visit of the Mail Delivery Centre were added in Le Matinal. In addition, Le Mauricien has dedicated a considerable space to this news item. The journalist has also included a coloured picture of the new post office. Moreover, Capital has also come up with succinct information about the official opening of Glen Park Post office. The quote of the CEO was partly taken up. Le Quotidien and Le Socialiste have both reported on this news item. It should be highlighted that the news was featured in the headline of Le Socialiste. A black and white photo of the visit of the Mail Delivery Centre accompanied the article. On the other hand, week-end newspapers Le Journal du Samedi, Le Dimanche/L Hebdo and Week-End Dimanche have surfaced with explicit news. Le Journal du Samedi has incorporated a picture of Glen Park Post office while Le Dimanche/L Hebdo has inserted to coloured picture of the new post office and the visit of the Mail Delivery Centre. For the broadcast media, The Mauritius Broadcasting Cooperation (MCB) has broadcast this news at JT 19H30; this is well viewed by the Mauritian community. OVERALL: It can be concluded that the media campaign for this event was successful. The featuring of this news in a diverse array of media has allowed a greater reach and created more awareness around the opening of this new post office.
