Speaker: Glenn Crotty Airbrush Venturi The simple fact is that the airbrush is the only hand held art tool that can create realist sign visuals like a digital printer, and as such offers unique opportunities. This is a never ending theme with Airbrush Venturi. While everyone in the sign industry is focussed on the development of digital printers, the role of the airbrush is continuing to grow alongside, for the very reason that it can play multiple roles in conjunction with the digital printer; from ground up signs using high tech auto paints like PPG s Prizmatique, through to airbrushing on surfaces that digital printers can t, to repairing digital signs, such as wraps, tautliners, and more. Everyone acknowledges that the airbrush requires extensive training to be able to get the full benefit of the tool, but far from seeing this as a negative, we are convinced that once a person learns to airbrush properly, they build a wall behind them that can protect their business. Anyone can buy a digital printer in your town or suburb and undermine your business, but not just anyone can buy an airbrush and undermine advanced skills with the tool; skills that you can develop easily. The key to this argument is the development of high speed rendering systems with the airbrush that turns the signwriter into a living photocopier, able to airbrush absolutely any image quickly and profitably on any surface. 5 seminar presenters visualimpact IMAGEEXPOGold Coast 2010 Richard Dodd Richard Dodd has been an avid user of CorelDRAW since the early 90s when he ran his own Desktop Publishing business, designing everything using CorelDRAW version 2. Richard held an international marketing role for Corel for 7 years before going out on his own again. Richard now runs a photographic studio ( still using and evangelising Corel s powerful range of products. Richard John John Hadfield John spent his traditional training years working in various sign manufacturing business until he started his own business, Hadfield Sign Company, in March He had a range of experiences in running a medium sized manufacturing business employing around 25 staff and being actively involved in a Sydney and Melbourne based supply based business. has experienced every aspect of the sign industry, having owned and managed a variety of sign manufacturing businesses. John also is a member of SAA, SGIA, ME&S, NSCA and many more. After developing some innovative concepts including Sign One Sign Systems that were accredited in the Australian Technology Showcase, this was sold to an international organisation. John then spent several years traveling around the globe as the International Manager of Sign Products for Gravograph. After which John developed many web based marketing solutions and one of his new ventures KiM a business process management system specifically designed for the sign and graphic industry. Dale Hawkins Dale has 23 years experience with digital colour graphics technology. 16 years involving wide format printing and 13 years with Océ Australia. He introduced the first digital poster printers (Displaymaker) to the Australian market back in Dale now heads up the Océ Display Graphics business in Australia and is enjoying tremendous success due to the highly successful Océ Arizona UV flatbed printers.
