3 Executive Summary Business mentoring is the absolute key to help new businesses in the UK grow and prosper By learning from already established and successful entrepreneurs, this vital experience will be a key in helping all of us as a Nation get out of the current situation we are in. In a time where this country needs small business to succeed more than ever before, properly structured mentoring programs for business owners is a key part of achieving this. When I first met Jonathan, I was instantly attracted to the business model he had created. As a young, enthusiastic but yet very experienced entrepreneur, I was very keen to get involved with this business. Fortunately I have been able to do so and have enjoyed seeing Rockstar s growth in the corporate mentoring space since August Oliver Rothschild, Chairman of Rockstar Mentoring Rockstar Youth is the subsidiary company of Rockstar Mentoring Group, since 2010 has focussed on providing incubation, mentoring and investment for yr olds keen to turn their business dreams into reality. We have successfully run these incubators around the country so far and have provided mentoring and funding (so far over 300,000 raised) for young businesses. It is with huge excitement that we can now confirm Rockstar Youth has become the first private National delivery partner for the government s START UP LOANS facility; where so far, 82.5m has been released purely to delivery partners chosen to provide the incubators, start-up capital and mentoring to as many young people as possible! Here at Rockstar Youth, we are looking for key partners who can help promote these incubators and we believe your organisation would be a key fit! We are keen to host a joint event with you at your premises for between young people and aim to grant them as many start-up loans and mentoring as possible. The unique offer we bring is we have a REJECT NO ONE policy which we will elaborate on in this proposal. Trying to do it all yourself is impossible. Especially in the early days, I had some great mentors whose experience led eventually to what Virgin became and continues to be. 4 The Opportunity Rockstar Youth s goal is to be the No.1 Delivery partner for this scheme. Hosting the highest number of young people keen to start or grow their business and to showcase their brilliant talent as well as the talent of our host partners (yourselves). To cater for the volume of young people to each incubator we want to work with like minded groups such as yourselves and other groups including Universities, Young Entrepreneur Societies and Colleges to help market these events to their members and databases and help spread the word of this fantastic opportunity. The Process Rockstar Youth have created a transparent and simple 3 step process for young people to apply and fulfil their business loan application. Step 1: Apply for the Rockstar Youth Start Up Loan Online o Simply go to o Complete the 4 qualifying questions about your business o Select a suitable Incubator Date Step 2: Attend the Rockstar Youth Business Incubator o FREE full day business incubator o Work on your business - receive advice, guidance & recommendation from experts o Undergo Loan Approval Step 3: FREE Monthly Mentoring o Provided by Rockstar Mentors o Recommendations on fast-track sustainability and scalability o Pathway to business success

5 The Incubators The incubators are the first step to access the mentors and the start up capital for the young entrepreneurs. Hosted usually on a Saturday (due to availability of both venue and young people) in either a large lecture hall or within Student Union buildings, it is an inspiring and enjoyable day, hosted by the Directors and Mentors of Rockstar Youth. Within the loan application there are 4 distinct questions that the applicant needs to respond to: Business Idea & Solution Proof of Concept & Market How they intend use the Start Up Loan How to generate revenues The incubators have been designed to allow every applicant to undergo workshop in each of these areas; in addition to this there are keynotes of business start up and guest speakers who will share insights, tips and recommendations All attendees will be assigned into workshop streams 1, 2, 3 & 4 they will then rotate round the streams throughout the day. At the end of the day they will be provided a letter group A, B or C and then attend a corresponding session where they will receive Loan Approval, Recommendations to Change or Guidance on what needs to be added and resubmission within 4 weeks Typical Agenda (Please note: This 8 hour program can be reduced down to 5-6 hours if required) 9.00 Registration Tea/Coffee Welcome Introduction to the day and team Keynote Workshop Streams Lunch Workshop Streams Workshop Streams Break Guest Speaker keynote with Q&A Workshop Stream Recap of the day Group Allocations for decisions and recommendations Close

6 THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN! We are seeking partners who can host us at their facilities and market to their databases to help fill the events. It is completely FREE for the host partners to do this with us and ideally in return for the huge level of work we will be providing your network, ideally the more cost effective it is for us, the more young people we will be able to put on the incubator and grow their businesses! It is also an incredible accolade for any facilitator to be seen to be offering this to their student and / or members as this is one of the government s KEY INITIATIVES of driving the UK economy forward Helping young people s business dreams become reality and they have been very specific to which delivery partners they wish to work with. In following suit, we too have been very selective with which partners we would like to work with and hope this is the start of long term working relationship. Requirements for hosting Venue/Facilities A venue suitable to hold people The permutations can be a main hall and 4 breakout session rooms or simply one large space which we will create breakout areas within Projectors, Screens & Speaker Systems Catering facilities Beverages & Food (this can be through internal or external providers) Marketing/Sign up Promotional campaign encouraging the network to sign up and apply for their loans and attend the business incubators All applications must be done online All applicants should also quote your HOST CODE in the application Event Support We would be delighted to have you and your team at the event You could simply host alongside Rockstar Youth or where possible get involved

7 Who we are It s been incredibly helpful having Rockstar Mentoring as one of our initial advisors and mentoring firms when we established the BBA and BIS mentoring portal in August Out of all the mentoring firms within the mentorsme portal, Rockstar continues to be the most sought after mentoring firm every month. Enterprise Incubators Rockstar Youth offer would-be and budding young entrepreneurs a full incubator programme to develop their business ideas into real, tangible business opportunities The incubator allows the young entrepreneur to really understand the issues, barriers and solutions to their business idea so they can develop the winning strategy. The Rockstar Enterprise Incubators are suitable for yr olds that: Have a business idea that they wish to launch Started working on their idea and have hit a brick-wall in progression Recently launched their business and need support in scalability Business ideas that are looking for funding Businesses under 18 months that are looking for investment The Enterprise Incubators prepare you for the next phase in your Rockstar journey and lead you to the Rockstar Youth Module Programme. Rockstar Youth Module Programmes Businesses that show real opportunity and completion from the ideation phase are invited to progress through the modular programme where the conditioning of the business, the plan, strategies and preparation for pitching takes place. Mentoring & Investment Businesses that have undergone ideation, creation and conditioning will then get the opportunity to work with one of the Rockstar Mentors who are all successful entrepreneurs that have achieved success and are looking to support young entrepreneurs achieve investment into their businesses

9 Why the opportunity is so timely for young entrepreneurs With the current economic situation, more yr olds THAN EVER BEFORE are keen to not rely on finding a job and instead wish to build their own businesses and eventually employ their own staff! Rockstar has been incredibly passionate and more importantly successful in helping young people achieve this and we feel the timing of such an amazing opportunity for young people and thus the results we can help them achieve is very exciting! We genuinely believe NOW is the best time to be starting a business and believe also that for a young person wanting to start a company, they need the right structure from the outset, necessary capital to get it off the ground and most importantly, a mentor to meet with monthly to keep the strategy in line and to have the goals achieved. We, for 2 years now have been doing this for young people but at a cost. Now, thanks to the Start Up Loans Board, this is now open to ALL young people wanting to set up ANY business and is now FREE or them!
