STUDNT OUNIL The Student ouncil is a committee of I students whose role is to represent and be the voice of the I student body. The Student ouncil seeks to engage all I students by planning and organising social activities and student events focussing on celebrations of cultural diversity. 5. STUDY SUPPORT I offers Study Skill Sessions for its students, which include academic and report writing, computer literacy and time management skills. The aim of the Study Skills Sessions is to support students in achieving successful course outcomes as well as preparing students for further study. 6. AADMI SKILLS SUPPORT Students are provided with support in academic skills. The Learning Adviser at I organises and schedules literacy and numeracy workshops on a weekly basis and students are encouraged to attend these workshops. This support provides students with the skills required to undertake their studies in the vocational courses or bachelor courses. Students are also encouraged to seek support from the Learning Adviser on an individual basis to discuss their individual academic circumstances. 7. STUDNT WLFAR The Student Welfare Team comprises professional and friendly staff qualified to assist students in a broad range of areas, including counselling. The service is free and confidential. 4 I AADMI BOARD meritus Professor Alan Lindsay Alan Lindsay was appointed as an meritus Professor of Monash University following his retirement as Deputy Vice-hancellor and Vice-President in Since then, he has provided consulting services to universities and private higher education institutions on institutional strategy and management; quality assurance and improvement; audit processes; leadership development; and international education. He also has been involved extensively in higher education quality audit and accreditation processes for government agencies in Australia and overseas. He has been an AUQA auditor and a Senior hair for the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority. Alan Lindsay served as Deputy Vice-hancellor and Vice- President (Academic and Planning), Monash University, from 1997 until 2006 and as PV of Macquarie University from 1975 to Alan s career in senior management involved portfolios with responsibility for institutional planning; academic policy; the university s overall course profile; the development of flexible, open, distance learning; quality assurance and improvement; staffing policies; access and equity; and international development. He played a major role in the planning and strategic management of Monash s global academic organisation and program. He has served on two university governing councils, and also on the Board of Open Universities Australia and of several university companies. He has served on numerous sector and government committees. Paul was hief Financial Officer, ompany Secretary and, subsequently, General Manager (Operations) of omputer Resources ompany, a Stock xchange listed manufacturing company in Sydney, before undertaking a career change. He moved to the UK where he became Head of Training and Development for West Mercia Police. Following completion of his PhD, Paul moved into academia, where he was a Senior Lecturer and Director of xecutive ducation with Aston Business School. He returned to Australia in 2006, becoming a Professor at Monash University, where his roles included Head of Discipline for Management Accounting and Accounting Information Systems, and Associate Dean (Research Training). Don Gregg Don Gregg is a business strategy expert with over 25 years of experience crafting and implementing impactful business strategies in a range of industries. He has run large corporate divisions as well as smaller privately-owned businesses. His working life spans Australia and his native anada. He holds a BASc (Systems Design ngineering) from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario. arly in his career he spent several years with global strategy firm The Boston onsulting Group and was consulted by some of Australia s leading companies including ANZ Bank, Pacific Dunlop, OT (now part of Telstra) and ountry Road.
