5 About the Program English Program 10 weeks * Business or Information Technology Academic Program 4 months/ 16 weeks *The number of weeks of English required will depend on the student s current English skills. The English part of the program will give students the opportunity to improve on their reading, writing and presentation skills which will be invaluable in increasing employment prospects. The academic component will give students new skills in a very practical learning environment. As students are studying part of a diploma, they also may (depending on the university the student attends in their home country) be able to gain extra credits towards their studies. There are two study areas in the academic program, Business or Information Technology. The study abroad english program CRICOS COURSE CODE: F Academic English English Program 10 weeks * Business or Information Technology Academic Program 4 months/ 16 weeks This program will teach you key English skills needed for study at university level and within the business environment. About the program Students will learn the English language skills required for academic study at university level from essay writing, researching, reading and notetaking. Recommended for: Students who are either currently studying a business degree or simply want to add a business component to their studies and CV. How it works: Students will undertake 3 business subjects over one semester. Subjects: Academic and Business Communication Accounting for Business Economics for Business 1 Outcomes: Students will demonstrate a clear understanding of the functions of accounting, finance, marketing and management within a business organisation. Certificate: On completion of the program students will be awarded with a certificate of completion. Jay Jung, South Korea The quality of the business curriculum is really high and the teachers are really supportive. The class sizes are small and I ve learnt a lot through group work. *Subjects comprise the first semester of the Diploma of Business (Standard) The study abroad Information Technology program (4 months/ 1 semester) CRICOS COURSE CODE: 05364M Diploma of Information Technology (Standard)** About: The Diploma of Information Technology (Standard) was designed in collaboration with the UTS Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology. Recommended for: Students who are either currently studying an IT degree or simply want to add an IT component to their studies and CV. How it works: Students will undertake 3 information technology subjects over one semester. Subjects: Academic and Information Technology Communication Introduction to Information Systems Programming Fundamentals Outcomes: You will gain the necessary technical skills to be able to analyse system problems and identify solutions, construct basic networks and write object-oriented code. Certificate: On completion of the program students will be awarded with a certificate of completion. Minori Sato, Japan The IT classes and projects you work on are really practical as they prepare you for work in the real world. The teaching quality is also very high and having the academic support on hand is very useful. **Subjects comprise the first semester of the Diploma of Information Technology (Standard) On successful completion of the academic program, students will receive a Certificate of Completion. Students have the option of continuing the course in order to qualify for a Diploma at and then articulate to UTS.

7 Entry Requirements To be qualified to enter the program, you need to meet the following requirements: 1. English requirement Depending on IELTS or TOEFL scores, the number of English weeks that you need to undertake before commencing the academic program will vary.
