1 Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive 2015 Sponsorship Opportunities Stuff the Bus is an annual School Supply Drive that provides supplies to lowincome school-aged children. In the North Penn and Souderton Area School Districts, 24% of students (nearly 5,000) were living in poverty in 2014 as measured by free and reduced lunch rates (an indicator of poverty). Thousands of low-income families sacrifice sending kids back to school with the supplies they need, in order to put a roof over their head and food on the table. Help North Penn United Way provide a "stuffed" backpack to every child in need in the North Penn and Indian Valley communities. Stuff the Bus collection begins in June and ends July 17 th. We collect donated backpacks, school supplies and monetary contributions. Penndale Middle School will host a Stuffing Party on August 5 th. Last year, over 70 volunteers came to lend a hand to count, sort and organize school supplies, and stuff 1,500 backpacks. This year our goal is to meet the demand and supply 5,000 stuffed backpacks. Help us triple the number of stuffed backpacks in order to meet the needs of our local school districts.
