5 Data Centers IT Design The data centre has become a critical component in all types of organisation. It must be suitably planned and designed so as to allow sufficient guarantees of quality, efficiency and service continuity, regardless of the dimensions and the sector in which it operates. Electrical power distribution systems are fundamental infrastructure for most production processes, and IT infrastructures contribute to determining their performance, for example in terms of safety, reliability and ease of maintenance. Some of the cooling systems are below: Precision air-conditioning systems regulate temperature and humidity for sensitive technology precisely to the last degree. In data centers and mobile phone network exchanges, their cost-efficient, continuous operation reliably ensures the high availability of computer systems. Thermal Duct Kits connect to rack enclosures to remove hot air through an overhead duct to the HVAC/CRAC return air stream. Built-in cooling system that can regulate the cabinet temperature as required by the manufacturer. 10

14 Date: Location: Sydney, Australia GNOC and Data Center Design ATCATEL SYDNEY GNOC DATA CENTER The Project Alcatel Australian data centre, consisting of a total floor space of more than 200 m 2, located in Sydney, New South Wales. Alcatel data centre service includes: Secure and reliable data centre floor space Carrier neutral connectivity 24 hour facility management Infrastructure supported by redundant and failover systems 24 x 7 access for authorised personnel Diverse internal and external cable pathways 24 x 7 onsite security controls Remote hands and support hotline staffed 24 x 7 by Site Operators Our Role The Building Management Control System (BMCS) controls & monitors HVAC equipment throughout the building inclusive of data hall CRAC units and monitors fire trip alarms, switchboard multifunction meters, main switchboard fault and condition statuses and monitoring of DRUPS units. All BMCS data is backed up on dual redundant servers utilizing high fault tolerance and high-availability software ensuring the local NOC has high visibility of all operating equipment 24 x 7 x 365 days The Results We have completed the project successfully, on time and within the allocated budget. 15 Date: Location: Doha, Qatar Data Center Detailed Design OFFICE MONITORING BUILDING The Project The office building consists of a ground floor, mezzanine floor and 3 stories. The building is used mainly for business occupancy. The building included a main data centre for communications and monitoring purposes. Our Role The Qatari Authorities are focusing on developing projects in an efficient way. We worked side by side with the client using the latest design technologies. We have dedicated a trained team for this project to produce an effective data centre design. Our engineers along with our drafting team were able to deliver the project to the latest high end standards. 16 Client: IDEA Date: Location: Beirut Central District Data Centre Design Lebanese Parliament house The Project The Lebanese Parliament Building was built in The building has suffered a lot of damages during the Lebanese civil war between the years 1975 to The Building was restored in 1982 and outfitted with the present furniture, so it has been around 28 years since the last restoration of this building, although some routine maintenance on its facilities, the Lebanese Parliament Building has become inappropriate to receive official delegations or even to hold international conferences under its wings. The Lebanese Parliament is composed of two Basements, ground floor and three upper floors. The estimated total construction area is around 6,500 m². Our Role Our scope consists of full data centre and monitoring for re-design and renovation of the Parliament Building in addition to the refurbishment of the Deputies Building. We worked closely with the client to meet their requirements. We produced designs that can meet with the latest technologies. The Results Our Data Centre design to the parliament building was a serious approach to the ideal solutions and most cost effective. Our Design was recognised as an international design. 17 Date: Location: Doha, Qatar DATA CENTRE DESIGN CONTROL BUILDING The Project The Control building consists of a simple ground floor construction that includes a sub data centre. Our Role We were hired as the data center design consultant for this project to help the developer with the concept design phase, preliminary design phase and tender design phase. Part of our responsibilities was to detail design the amenities and municipal support areas within the project using the latest international requirements.
