2 1. Prerequisites Unyfy needs to have a Lync client installed in order to operate. Your Desktop Support Team should be able to assist you with the installation of the Lync Client. Any version from 2010 and newer is valid as is the client provided by Microsoft as part of Office 365 Business Essentials. Currently, Microsoft only provides the client as part of Office 365 or as a component within Desktop Office packages. 2. Download the Unyfy Setup program Go to UnifiedCT.com 3. Start the install Once the download is complete simply double-click the Unyfy_Setup.exe file. Your browser may give you the option to run it directly. If so, please do. Unyfy_Setup creates a temporary folder within the folder from which it was launched. This folder (UnyfyTemp) and its contents can be deleted once the installation & setup is completed. Windows may ask for temporary, elevated, User Access Control permissions for the installation. Please grant these permissions as the application will not install properly without them. Unyfy_Setup.exe will install a number of prerequisite components such as the.net runtime and the Lync 2013 SDK redistributable. The install will walk you through this process asking that you read and accept the terms & agreements for each component. Once the prerequisites are successfully installed the actual Unyfy application will be installed. Simply accept the defaults as the install walks you through the process. Unyfy installs its programs in the C:\Program Files (x86)\unified Conferencing Technologies folder and its data in C:\Users\%USER%\Unified Conferencing Technologies\Unyfy

3 After completion of the installation Unyfy_Setup.exe will launch the Settings module to allow you to configure Unyfy for your environment and needs. 4. Unyfy Settings Module GENERAL TAB Set access and security features as well as the behavior of the ScheduleBar. Controls the behavior of the ScheduleBar. Prevents casual access to this (Settings) module Secure Attachments: When attachments are secured, Unyfy will the Meeting Organizer approximately 24 hours before the meeting is scheduled to start. This will contain the password needed to access the attachments via Unyfy from within the meeting room. ScheduleBar Behavior modes: Default = directly reflects the schedule of the conference room showing scheduled appointments. Show Free Time = Adds placeholders for

4 unscheduled time. Hide Appointments = Removes appointments from the ScheduleBar that do not have an Online Meeting associated with them. LOOK & FEEL TAB Unyfy provides the ability to customize much of the UI including the Language used within the Unyfy controlled User Interface Language Support: Unyfy ships with a number of languages supported out of the box. However, Unyfy uses an easy to extend approach. All Language files are stored in C:\Users\%USER%\AppData\Local\Unified Conferencing Technologies\Unyfy\i18n. (%USER% = the name of the user logged in at time of install) The language files are xlsx files that adhere to a specific naming convention language.%ietf_code%.xlsx (%IETF_CODE% = an internet standard coding for Language names represented as a 2 character language code, a hyphen and a 2 character region/country code e.g. en-us for English-United States or en-gb for English-United Kingdom). Users can create their own Language file by copying one of the existing files to the new name and then edit the translation column (Column B). Do NOT edit Column A as it is the key element that allows Unyfy to look up the translation.

5 If you do create a new Language file, please, let us know and we ll be sure to include it in all future releases. LOCALES TAB Unyfy supports virtually unlimited Locales, which are useful in multinational environments to promote awareness of times in regions in which they interact.

6 COMMANDS TAB Unyfy capabilities are expressed through the Commands mechanism. As features are added to Unyfy the majority of them will be defined here. Not all organizations will need all supported commands. This tab allows each organization to select the features they do wish to expose to the conference room users.

7 EXCHANGE TAB Configuration for Unyfy s integration to MS Exchange. Meeting Room Lookup If the Meeting Room field is left blank Unyfy will display the schedule for the user defined above. This option requires special consideration noted below With just the Exchange Address and Password Unyfy can automatically discover the URL needed to interact with your onpremise Exchange or Office 365 Meeting Room Support: Meeting Rooms are a special configuration option in Exchange. They are defined as what are referred to as Resources and provide special handling for auto-accepting/declining meeting invitations and responses to the requestor. In order for Unyfy to interact with these Meeting Room Resources they must be setup with a Mailbox/Calendar. By default they do not have a Mailbox associated with them. This nuance prevents Unyfy from being able to access their calendar through the API. Therefore, each Meeting Room Resource must have a Mailbox associated with them. It is also important to configure the above user as a Delegate for the Meeting Room Mailbox/Calendar otherwise Unyfy will not have the proper authentication/authorization, to access the Meeting Room Calendar. Lastly, in order to allow the Lookup/Searching of Meeting Rooms one must configure Exchange to support a special Meeting Room List. The details can be found here.

8 GOOGLE TAB Configuration for Unyfy s integration to Google Calendar. Revocation can only be done after an account has been activated. When you click the Activate button a browser will launch and take you to Google s authentication and access request process. Like Exchange, the user used here should be a conference room user and not an individual Google provides multiple Calendars per user. Select which ones should be included on the ScheduleBar using this option.

9 MEETING PROVIDERS TAB Unyfy leverages the information contained within this tab to identify and interact with online meeting providers. Lync when used with Exchange is managed through a different process and does not need to be defined here. However, if you are using a calendar solution, such as Google, with Lync, entries will need to be created. A number of providers (WebEx, GoToMeeting and Zoom) come preconfigured and should work out of the box. Others can be requested by sending an to support@unifiedconferencingtechnologies.com Hovering over the column headers will provide more details about the column. One needs proficiency in Regular Expressions to be successful managing changes to this tab.

10 ABOUT TAB Provides information about the software and PC platform on which it is running. This is also where you manage Product Keys. Unyfy provides users with the ability to Relinquish a Product Key. This is an important capability that allows users to migrate licenses to new, replacement hardware as the Product Key is tied to the current hardware. Product Key Management. Relinquish key when upgrading hardware.

11 5. Enjoy! After you complete the needed changes within the Settings module, the installation is complete and Unyfy will be ready to go! Simply double-click the Unyfy icon on your desktop to launch the program.
