3 Requirements Architecture Requirements: Dedicated Windows Server Mail Server (Dedicated or Virtualized, Exchange, SMTP, POP3) Virtualized Windows Server (Visendo Fax Server 2007 Virtual) TCP/IP or REMOTE CAPI or USB Device/s for Virtualized Server System Requirements for Visendo Fax Server 2007: Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Professional Windows 2003 Standard Server or Small Business Server Windows XP, SP1, SP2, SP3 Windows Longhorn Windows Vista NT 4.0 Server + Jet Provider + MDAC Analog Modem or PCI ISDN Card/s for Dedicated Visendo Fax Server CAPI 2.0 Driver (G3 Fax standard) for ISDN or Modem USB ISDN Device/s for Virtualized Visendo Fax Server or Remote, TCP/IP CAPI

4 1. Installing Visendo Fax Server Enterprise on your Dedicated Machine. First of all, take a standard Installation of a Windows Operating System of your choice. Make sure, that your Windows is up to date and test that are all required system drivers are installed correctly. Next step is to install the Microsoft Core XML Services (MSXML) 6.0 and Microsoft Management Console 3.0. Now your System is ready for installing the Visendo Fax Server 2007 Enterprise Edition. Only in Enterprise Edition you can use Clustering! Download the Software Archive from our Website ( and execute the Software Installer. Attention: Make sure, that your CAPI Devices are working before you re going to install the Fax Server! To download our Software you have to take a registration in our forum. Make sure, that you ve choose the correct Architecture for your System. After installing the Visendo Fax Server, there are two new Desktop Shortcuts available. Execute the Visendo Fax Server Admin and add your CAPI Devices to your new Server. Next step is to add a new Account with the MSN s of the Fax Users. (Right click on accounts) Now you can start your first Server by Right Clicking and Start

5 2. Installing Visendo Fax Server Enterprise on a Virtual Machine Install a Virtualization Software of your choice on a separate Dedicated Machine. For example on your Exchange Server. Install the Operation System and the Visendo Fax Server 2007 Enterprise in the same way like above. Attention: If you re using an USB ISDN Device you ve to use Virtual Box or VMware, because of USB Support. PCI ISDN Devices are not usable in a Virtual Machine! 3. Configuration of the Clustering Go to your Dedicated Fax Server and enter the Collaboration Menu Cluster Cluster Settings. Choose the current Fax Server as the primary and enter the IPv4 Address of the Backup Server. No, go the the Virtualized Machine and configure it as the Back UP Server and enter the IPv4 Address of the Primary Server. Now your Fax Server Cluster is completely configured.
