Season is officially in full swing with the return of our part time residents. Those of you who have arrived in the past few weeks were greeted by our holiday lights and below normal temperatures which are expected to last into next week. Many projects have been completed while you where away with more to come in The major projects for this year include the replacement of the fire alarm system, the installation of sprinklers in all the common areas, the concrete restoration work and replacement of the railings and screens on all remaining balconies. It is expected to be a very busy year. We have two seats available and four owners have submitted their names for your consideration. Please read over their qualifications and return your ballots to the management office even if you plan on attending the meeting. Also included in this package will be a ballot with several amendment and rule changes that have been recommended by the Rules and Regulations Committee. During the month of December the Association completed the foreclosure process on Penthouse unit 2104 and also unit If you, a relative or a friend have an interest in possibly purchasing either of the units please contact me. I will send out additional information as it becomes available. This month we welcome an additional part time maintenance worker to The Stratford team. Jim Sipos will be assisting in the projects and upgrades as well as general maintenance. Jim was selected for his attention to detail and overall knowledge. Lastly, on behalf of Linda, Daniel, Ines and I, we would like to thank all of you for your generous contributions to the employee holiday fund. We wish all of you a safe, healthy and happy new year. 2 SOCIAL CALENDAR SIP n SNACK Come join your friends and neighbors! Sip n Snack is on the 2 nd Monday of the month. The sign up sheet is in the mail room. Please sign up if you plan on attending, as it will be cancelled the Friday before if there are less than 8 people. January 11 th from 5:30 PM 7:00 PM in the Social Room. There will not be a Sip n Snack in the month of February. DO THE CONDO CRAWL! 3 Things you should know Welcome Home! If you let us know your arrival date back to Naples, we will have your unit ready for you upon your arrival. The temp will be set, water/hot water heater on, shutters open and ice maker turned on. Pest Control We are doing things a little differently this year for pest control. All common areas will be treated on a monthly basis. Spraying this often will eliminate the need to come into your unit. The next scheduled visit is on Monday, January 18. Please let us know if you have any problems and we will contact the company. AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) A reminder that there is an AED installed, which is located on the wall just inside the pool door and opposite the restrooms on the mezzanine level. Names of the staff and Stratford residents trained in CPR and how to operate the device are inside the AED container Foundation Board Election There are two vacancies for the 2010 Foundation Board Election. If you are interested in running for the Board you must complete the Information Form. This form is available in an electronic version by request to sminadeo@pelicanbay.org and can be located on the Pelican Bay Foundation website at under E-Forms. Electronic submission is the preferred method of submission by January 8, 2010 in order to have your name printed on the Ballot. You can find a hard copy of this form in the Stratford mailroom. Foundation Annual Meeting The annual Member meeting of the Pelican Bay Foundation will be held on March 29, In-House Channel 96 Due to the fall line-up changes with Comcast, The Stratford inhouse channel 19 has been changed to channel 96. You can pick up a copy of the fall channels in the office. Pelican Bay Foundation Guest Pass Increase As of October 1, 2009, the fees for guest passes have changed. The new fees are $15 for up to a 10 day pass and $25 for up to a 20 day pass. Please call the Pelican Bay Foundation Office at for more details. Name Badges We now have clip on name badges for all owners that will be available during Stratford parties. Please ensure that they are returned to the container before leaving the event. Phone Entry When you have visitors at the front entry phone please press 6 on your phone to allow them access into the building. Long time resident. Mr. Eugene Lawler passed away on November 23 rd. His was a long time resident of The Stratford, unit He will be missed by his many friends and neighbors. 4 Projects. New motorized door from lobby to garage. Jim Sipos has joined the Stratford team as part-time maintenance person, and will be assisting in special projects and general maintenance. Finished product of 01 stack lanais. We are currently in the process of painting the fitness room. The new window, which goes all the way to the ceiling, has been installed and gives the appearance of a much larger and brighter room. Mr. Miller is putting some miles on the new bicycle while enjoying the view!!
