3 Valencian Automotive Cluster The Valencian Automotive Cluster (AVIA) is the result of the promotion of an initiative that began as the Valencian Automotive Association in AVIA was established in order to give answers to the continuous changes that appear in the global world, focused at the automotive sector. These changes have led to the evolution of AVIA from a business association, to a regional cluster. AVIA is composed by several public and private institutions: - Ford, as the driving force in the valencian automotive sector. - Consellería de Industria, as the government administration input - Academic and research institutes such as Universitat Politècnica devalència and several technological institutes from REDIT. - And many component enterprises. Moreover, AVIA is a member from the national Regional Automotive Clusters Alliance (ACREA), established in Political and entrepreneurial changes in Spain along with business entities have triggered an evolution of AVIA s strategy, which is based in three main pillars; Cluster s empowerment; networking and providing services to members. The Cluster s objectives are to enhance its figure and to become the entity that represents the automotive sector at national and international level in order to encourage greater turnover for all its members. The second pillar of the strategic plan is related with the Cluster s ability to generate business opportunities for its members through projects that improve their productivity in most companies departments. And AVIA's strategic plan finally includes the need to provide added value services for its members. In this way, AVIA aims to become a partner that eases in some areas of their daily management (training, employment, communication, projects, etc.) Membership growth

4 Valencian Automotive Cluster MISSION: Throughout these years, at the beginning as association and later on as Cluster it has aimed to promote the competitiveness, to increase dynamism develop and promote communication, partnerships, productivity, training, research, development and innovation in the automotive companies of Valencia. VISION: Cluster s vision comes up from the consolidation mission; it is to strengthen its position at Comunitat Valenciana and to be recognized throughout the European Union. The Cluster currently brings together more than 60 companies in the automotive sector throughout the Comunitat Valenciana, it involves accounting for 87% of the sector's turnover. And it employs more than 7,000 employees. Within the entity are metalworking, logistics, plastics industry, and chemical industry companies.
