3 DataDirector s easy-to-use interface lets you quickly access the information you need. TWO CLICKS to Your Assessment Data DataDirector provides a powerful set of functions that allow educators to access data, view reports, and understand students. Assessments Tab DataDirector users can view assessments in the system or create new ones using a simple wizard interface. Assessments can be shared district-wide or site-wide with a grade level, vertical team, department, or individual teacher, and downloaded in Excel or Tab-delimited format or as a PDF. Exams Tab Educators can use the integrated item bank to create standards-aligned paper-and-pencil or online tests. Users can create multiple versions of an exam, test booklets as a PDF, and answer booklets pre-coded with students ID numbers suitable for plain-paper scanning. They may also align exams to standards and enter an answer key to score and report on existing tests. DataDirector users can create or modify standards-aligned exams integrated with all the other data in the system, as well as multiple measure reports that show patterns of student performance compared to standards and CRT, NRT, and district tests. They can also upload answer keys and score exams online. 4 TWO CLICKS to Your Reports and Standards Reports Tab The Reports Tab allows DataDirector users to create, view, and share dynamic reports and graphs using a simple report wizard. Users can select any data in the system, including student demographic, sub-group, assessment, or teacher data. For example, a user can create a report that shows longitudinal student demographic data next to student assessment data next to contact phone number next to primary language and student program participation. A standards-based report card module is also available. In addition, with a single click users can display powerful interactive reports at the district, site, or classroom level that address the major district, NCLB, and AYP reporting requirements. Standards Tab DataDirector users can easily interact with content standards in a variety of ways: Use a wizard to search and have immediate access to all standards Export standards to a convenient Excel format Link standards to assessments Communication Tab The Communication Tab allows access to an integrated function, plus critical information about each school, including AYP data. Users can also create form letters and merge student information to streamline the notification requirements of NCLB. 5 TWO CLICKS to Your Programs and Student History Students Tab DataDirector users can quickly locate groups or single students and view their course scheduling, transcripts, and program affiliation. Clicking on a student s name displays his or her digital cumulative record a longitudinal demographic and assessment history for as long as the student has been in the district, provided the data is in the system. Programs Tab Using the Programs Tab, users can create unlimited programs at any level, such as: Tracking district or school-wide professional development (e.g., which teachers attended and how their students are progressing) Tracking student intervention programs Linking standardized or pre/post assessments to intervention programs Identifying at-risk students via a report in the Reports section and attaching them to an intervention program with a single click Creating control groups and monitoring program effectiveness over time Plain-Paper Scanning with DataScanner DataDirector users can create any type of assessment a quiz, a test, a worksheet, or a final exam along with an answer sheet on plain-paper. Immediately after administering a test, users can scan the answer sheets on a plain-paper scanner (readily available and affordable), upload the scores into DataDirector using the DataScanner software (or third-party OMR scanning solution), and immediately compare the results with other data in the system. Hand-entry of data is also possible.
